A little ole' country general store serving down-home foods and goods since 1969..
In Short
Originating in Lebanon Texas, this country store and restaurant has branched out all over the U.S. The décor includes old advertising signs, farm equipment, early kitchen appliances and photos which complement the country-style seating. Their menu includes home-style comfort foods like meatloaf and house-made mashed potatoes daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure to stop into the gift shop for souvenirs and a variety of knick-knacks.

Great breakfast selection..
This a fun place to eat. Although it can get very crowded. The waits are very fast and service is pretty quick.
The breakfast menu is awesome and the food is very good with reasonable.prices. Sometimes the food can be served not as hot as desired. But the staff and mangement are eager to remedy any problems. There is ample parking at this location. Saturdays and Sundays are heavy all day. But the waits are reasonable. This restaurant has a great environment for all family memebers and offers a real southern down home experience.

GOOD BREAKFAST/BRUNCH.
This cracker barrel has improved substantially since our last visit a few weeks ago. Last time, our food sat in the window for awhile without being brought to the table, and the food itself wasn't seasoned like it is usually. The service that SAT. of our last visit left a lot to be desired. We decided to try this store again after not coming to this store and frequenting IHOP instead. Even though the wait was a little long after church, the restaurant got back on an even keel, and we received our food not even 5 minutes after we ordered it. This was much appreciated, considering we waited longer than our quoted wait time to be seated. Other people quipped on their way out the door to me that the wait here is usually like 2 hours long on a Sunday.
What I liked: the biscuits were excellent even though it was the middle of the afternoon. (I had been fasting, and this was a great meal, even better than usual).
What I didn't like: One of your servers was extremely rude to me in the foyer. If it is a Sunday, and I want to hold the door for people rather than stand in a packed restaurant/host stand, that is my prerogative... I didn't see her volunteering to hold doors for guests even though she works there, and to say something to me about this is completely inappropriate, and I expect this to be handled accordingly. She was very rude to even ask something like that when it was so obviously busy. Other servers were getting off work, and she should have found something productive to do instead of shoot off her mouth.
Keep up the good work... we look forward to frequenting you in the NEW YEAR!!! Way to go kitchen staff at the McDonough Cracker Barrel.
