“The nurse who put me in my room was totally rude.”
DRIVE TO COBB!. My husband was brought to this hospital's ER but was later admitted to the outpatient center. I had my 7 month old daughter with me and we weren't treated very well. My husband was told that he needed to have surgery and I wanted to stay at the hospital for awhile to assure that he was going to be ok. I asked the staff at 4 pm for a cot to put my daughter down for a nap. They never got the cot and later (about 8 pm) I was told by one of the staff members that if you're not planning to stay the night then you won't need the cot. They also made it difficult to order dinner for myself from the cafeteria. I was very disappointed with their service! Drive to Cobb or Kennestone if you can!
STAY AWAY!!!. Unfortunately, the ER physician treats people like the doctor in the show "House" very condescending, unprofessional, disrespectful and addressed us as we were some sort of
Wellstar Paulding ER visit. Took daughter to Paulding Wellstar ER on 08-17-11, arrived at 9:00 pm, diagnosed at 4:00 am, nealy 8 hours aftter arrival. Lab personnel very unprofessional, and unknowlegable, as it took 3 pokes at finding a vein, no success. Finally found vein on 4th attempt. ID band not applied to patient for approximately 1.5 hours after initial stats were taken (temp, etc). Staff appeared very un caring, with the exception of a couple ....Will go out of my way to avoid Paulding Wellstar in the future...If you have a choice, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Great ER staff!. Today our 7 year old beloved family dog got spooked by my 3 year old little girl and bit my daughter completely through the left side of her upper lip. I was hysterical and rushed my daughter to the nearest hospital to our home, but I had only been there once before about 4 years ago. They rushed us immediately back, and treated her just as promptly from that time forward. I commend the hospital staff on how well they thoroughly considered the best option for treating my child's facial wound. They kept my daughter as pain free as possible while we were waiting for her to be sedated before stitches. The doctor and nurses were all happy to answer questions, and one nurse even got my very stressed husband and I sodas which while it seems small meant the world to us in that moment. The patient relations woman (I wish I remembered her name, bc she was wonderful) brought my daughter stickers and crayons and coloring pages. As we were waiting to be discharged the most kind male nurse brought our girl a "well bee" stuffed animal and she has been clinging to it ever since we left. i can not express how much their obvious compassion meant to us. I am forever grateful esp. to the doctor who fixed my babies face. It was a complicated opening and it looks as if it will be good as new!
Deadly staph infections. Check staph infection rates at hospitals before having your surgery done. They do happen at fine hospitals.
Utter Disappointment for a Wellstar Hosital. In their defense, due to the weather conditions, there were several traumas that neede to be attended to before they could see regular patientsa, and this we were made well aware of and kept abreast of. However, I waiting over three hours simply to be put in a room. The nurse who put me in my room was totally rude. I waited another hour to see the doctor for the first time. The doctor and one of the nurses I saw were the only staff members I came into contact with that could pass for decent human beings. My clothing was thrown around blatently to make way for a cart, instead of politely moved or asked to be moved. I was forgotten about for over an hour and a half needlessly. I would avoid this facility if you feel like you should be treated with respect as a pateient. The care I received, although it took way too long, was up to par, though I feel a few more tests could have been run.
Pleasant employees, some billing difficulties.
I was at Paulding Hospital recently for a mammogram. They have the new digital equipment installed there
now. Everyone that I encountered at this facility was very pleasant. My only complaint is that I was billed incorrectly, and when I called about it, the person was not exceptionally friendly, and it took writing a letter of complaint to get the billing error corrected. On the up side.... once they recieved the letter of complaint, they rectified the situation. I reccommend this facility, but advise anyone if they are offered a "special price" for early payment, that they should make sure they make note of the person's name that takes their payment in the event of a billing error.
Wise to Avoid. Our family rates this facility a 'zero,' with a suggestion to avoid. The facility is run-down, out-dated, and severely depressing. The care we received was unacceptable and disappointing.
