Don't go here!

I have used the Repair Barn twice and each time found them to have very poor customer service. It is all about their convience and not the cash paying customers. If you leave equipment it good take as much as a month turn around to get it back and it will still have issues. I dropped off a chain saw to have a new bar and chain put on and this took 3 days to get back. I started using another company and they get they job done on the spot or within hours and they are just as busy as the Repair Barn states they are. Over all I would choose a different shop even if this is your last stop.

Customers Beware!!

by btcanton at Citysearch

Think twice before using this company. I brought my self-propelled mower in for repair in February. The mower was no longer self-propelling. After 4 weeks I got the call to come and pick up the mower. My wife picked it up and brought it home. When I started it up it still did not work.. So, the mower went back to the Repair Barn. The manager informed me that they had broke a cable during the final prep and neglected to call me. After another week I picked up the mower. We tested it there and it seemed to be operating correctly. A couple of days later I cut the lawn and after 2 minutes the mower stopped self-propelling. Off to the Repair Barn Again. On the lucky third visit the manager said it was a belt that was very worn and was unrelated to the original repair. I pointed out that the belt should have been noticed the first two times it was in... Nevertheless, two weeks later I had the mower back. Unfortunately, when I went to use the mower... Back to the Repair Barn again!! Got a call a few days later saying the whole problem was a faulty transmission and it would be $200 to fix. I had already spent close to $200 for the first 3 repairs so I decided to purchase a new mower. I asked for a refund since the problem was not diagnosed correctly and unnecessary repairs were made.. No luck. The manager did offer a brilliant analogy though "If I go to the doctor and say my head hurts and he sends me home and I die...It's not the doctor's fault." This guy is a real thinker, good thing cause he can't fix a lawn mower. After hearing his insight, I told him I would be disputing the charges with my Credit Card company. His reply was "Go ahead, we win those all of the time." I then informed him that if they have disputes all of the time, then maybe they need to look at the quality of their work... Long story short, they had the mower on 4 occasions, over 8 weeks, $200, and all for nothing! Thanks a lot Repair Barn of Canton!!!

  • Pros: Local Service
  • Cons: Costly, did not fix the original problem in 3 attempts, took 8 weeks
