Tips for Abundant Animal Care

All I have to say is horrible and I'm no where near this vet (I'm in NJ). I rescued a 5 month old beagle mix who was spayed on 3/1. How does a routine procedure go terribly wrong??? This is how...I took my dog to get the stitches removed from her incision and staples were removed easily but come to find out stainless steel stitches were used (on the outside!) So now the incision is so swollen from an infection the stitches cannot be removed. She was put on antibiotic and a follow up with my vet in 1 week. After a week incision is still swollen and stitches still cannot be removed and ultimately they need to be removed surgically to fix this doctors butchered job on this poor dog. The ends of each thread is coming through her skin from the inside!!!! I called the office and they were absolutely no help and very rude and they also accused the people before I had her that her antibiotics weren't given to her which caused her infection. Mind you...before she was transported to NJ, she was vetted and bordered at this animal hospital. So who's fault is it that her incision got infected??? THEIRS!!! They never properly cared for her and kept an eye on her incision. So now tomorrow she will have yet another surgery to fix this vet's mess to such a routine operation. There is no need for this poor puppy to go though another operation! Just not right! Shame on them. Considering contacting the board of vets down there...

Dr Waller is the worse vet I have ever seen in my lifetime. He keeps changing the name of the clinic because of his terrible reputation. He gave my Lab heart medicine when there was nothing wrong with her heart. She nearly died until I found another vet. Stay away from this place.

What a freaking horrible place to take an animal. My dad took his 18 yr old cat to this place and was told that she had a scratch after jumping out of her crate. He gets there and she had 30 staples. How is that a scratch and no one even told him about the "scratch"? WTF???? The cat died later than night after he took her home. He knew she was going to die because of her age, but oh my GOD! Can you think of your loved pet being treated this way? This an awful place to take loved pets. SHAME on you Abundant. They kept saying they wanted to watch her for almost 2 weeks and he trusted them. Screw this place and their vets.

We found another keeper. We love this Vet.. I never thought the fancy, antiseptic, cold, rented plants type of Vet was for us anyway and now we have found another like the one we had in Pickens-

Chester, Craig DVM - Animal Medical Clinic, Jasper, GA 30143-- They are now two of a kind. Its about the animals and not the money at this place. I love the neighborly way they treat us and the loving and down to earth way they treat our pets... never need appointments, they just tell you to come on in. They saved our whole bunch by telling us about the flea pill that last nearly all summer, instead of the neck drops that hardly work at all. The fees are as incredible as the staff and we would never go anywhere else. I hope they are they forever.

Yeap, IT's a bit different than most .. BUT .... Yeap, I'll agree this office is a bit different than most . It's not as tidy & a little less organized but I LOVE it anyway .

NO STUCK UP , RUDE people here . I've only seen down to earth & caring people .

I LOVE the fact that Dr. Waller hangs out in the front office while wearing his hawaiian shirts & answers the phone or talks to others waiting to pick up their animals when he's got a few minutes of down time . To me that just shows he dosn't think he's better than anyone else there & it give you a chance to REALLY get to know him .

My male puppy just about a month ago got fixed.

Dr. Waller did use the wire suture that someone on here was complaining about and yeah , I was suprised when I First saw them but it ended up being perfectly fine . NO problems at all !! I was also give the antibotics , pain med.s & care sheet that told me ALL I needed to know including a phone number at which to reach him at if needed before leaving .

For there to be several complaints on here I must say everytime I've been at Dr. Wallers office it sure is busy . He must be doing plenty right !!

Fantastic vet. I first met Doc 10 years ago after another Canton vet peeled me for nearly 1k in vet bills. he came recommended from neighbors, but I was reluctant to change over. then a story about him made the TV. A customer brought in their dog and asked to have it destroyed as it needed surgery they could not afford. Doc ended up providing the surgery for free and saving the animal.

Since then I have had 3 cats and four dogs administered to by Doc. As have many of my friends. He is concerned and caring and knows more about animals than most vets. He was a Major in the Army as a vet and also spent several years in Africa at the Kenyan National Park, tneding to elephants, lions, etc. .

His office is a bit unorthordox but this also serves to keep his overhead low. He provides all meds at COST with no markup (check his costs against PetMeds).

He provides the neuter and spay at a very low cost as well. the other vets in town are not particularly thrilled with him because he refuses to price-fix along with the rest of them.

His business name change was a result of a competitor opening up to become first in the yellow pages. Since Doc operates on a very thin profit margin, advertising is not in the budget. So he changed from Animal Kingdom to Abundant Animal Care.

While his dress may seem a bit unorthodox (yes a hawaiian shirt in summer), I find it refreshing. When I moved to Knoxville I would drive all the way back here to have him doctor my pets.

He has been a guest in my home and i am proud to call him my friend. When we lost our dog of 17 years he met me in the parking lot and sedated him before putting him down. He then hugged me while I cried like a baby in front of God and everyone else.

He often trades treatment for services (carpentry, etc) for those who cannot pay. He is not in this for the money but for his love of animals. And his hours are a bit strange as he has to moonlight with PetSmart to make ends meet. He takes in strays and keeps them until someone adopts.

So until you know what you are talking about please refrain from putting him down because of his appearance or the building he works out of. His equipment is all state of the art.

To those that state that Doc posts this himself. What a crock!!.
