I was required to contact the DirectTV call center and got the impression they would tell me anything to get me off the phone. They scheduled an appointment for later the same day, and 30 minutes later I received a call from Norman's. They came to my home as scheduled and repaired my TV same day....I couldn't be happier!
Normans Electronics company @ 3653 Clairmont Rd Atlanta Ga 30341 called 11:30 am , for my repair appointment confirmation scheduled from Direct TV protection repair plan , with a confirmation number of 637541** for todays scheduled time slot of 2:00-6:00pm canceled on me! said he didn't have time & then hung up, wouldn't pick up or return phone calls.Stay away from this business
Great Service. Norman's did a great job on my TV repair. The price was fair and the turnaround time was just as promised. I highly recommend them for electronics repair on anything and thank you for your excellent service.
Wouldn't Recommend.
I read the other reviews, but since Norman's is the only authorized Onkyo dealer within 30 miles of me, I decided to give a go anyway. My first impression was a total lack of customer centric service attitide. It was more like they would be doing me a favor.
Second, if they are repairing anything out of warranty, they charge $69 to check out the device. You pay the $69 regardless of what happens after that. If you get it repaired based on their estimate, they will deduct the $69 from the bill. If you don't, they keep it.
Last, all this will happen as long as you are willing to wait 25 days for an estimate, not to mention repair time/ parts ordering. When I asked why they take so long, the answer had to do with all of their authorizations and all of the equipment coming their way for repair. I asked why they didn't just hire more people and the answer I got was a little out there. "People don't go to school to learn this trade anymore, they just want to be lawyers and doctors".
Last time I checked, you didn't need a bachlor's degree to work on modularized AV equipment.
Poorly managed techs is more likely the problem.
Bottom Line: Mediocre customer service and a 25 day backlog.
Great Service. I have used Normans for many years and always had great experiences. They are knowledgable, reliable, honest, and through. Their techs try to educate me about my electronics and show me features I did not know about. For a non geek girl, it's kind of fun to feel like I am a 20something that "gets it".
Too bad they are the only option in Atlanta. If there was another certified Onkyo repair place in Atlanta I would go there instead of Norman's. These guys may know how to repair equipment but it's very hard to to business with them because of their hours and they are not courteous at all. I get better customer service at McDonald's (which is sad). If you have another repair center option, I would recommend you use it instead of Norman's. I'm surprised they're still in business.
