Boring..
This place is overpriced and undercooked! The beer was warm, the bartender was wasted on something, and the manager was very rude when I asked for a cold beer.
I've been there on more than one occasion and never had a pizza that was worth reviewing. Its "ok" food, basically chain type pizza and subs. Not worth the money! I won't be back, I gave it a fair chance and never got what I was looking for.
Solid option for Lilburn/Stone Mtn. locals.
After four years of living in the area - and desperately needing a place to watch the World Cup as I'm temporarily living sans television - I finally sauntered into the Stone Mountain Pizza Cafe to score some pizza and beer and get my World Cup fix. I'm kicking myself slightly for not heading there sooner. Pizza is fairly good (I've had Veggie Combo and Mountain Combo slices). All the essentials - crust, cheese, sauce and toppings - are done well. Pretzels, made of pizza dough and served in a bowl with a small pool of garlic butter, are very addictive. Chicken-philly sandiwich is also very good. The Cafe has a full-service bar, including very reasonably priced beer, though not offering great variety on tap (Dos Equis being the only import I recall seeing on tap; they do have many bottled offerings). Bringing all these goodies to you is a very perky, eclectic, and friendly staff. The vibe here just really stands out compared to most other local restaurants.
Big draw for me is the large flat screen TV in the bar area, with other TV's in logical spots throughout the dining area. The staff will accomodate most programming requests.. They also show Braves games and other games of interest. Keep in mind the bar area is separate from most of the dining area, and it's not loud at all.
Bottom line is there's better pizza in the Atlanta area, but in the homogenous Lilburn/Stone Mountain area, it's hard to beat this place for overall quality of food and service based on my many trips there. I definitely recommend it for locals.
Meet your friends at Pizza Cafe!. Authentic NY-style pizza! They use the freshest ingredients in their Greek (and other) salads, with the meats, veggies and cheeses wonderfully flavorful. The Mountain Avalanche is a huge slice of pizza; I love it well done so that even the middle gets too hot to eat at first. These are really large pizza slices, so you might want to see one before you think you want two.... We've been going at least once a week lately because every time we think pizza, Pizza Cafe is the next thought. Sorry to say we haven't gotten around to anything else yet because we keep eating the pizza! Eclectic "dress code"for employees might make you smile. :0)
Great Local Pizza place. This place has been around forever. Nice, young servers and cooks, absolutely no attitude. They once gave me a free meal because I had ordered it and it wasn't ready when I got there. Patio is nice for days when the weather is good. Good pizzas (try the Mountain Avalanche), great calzones (assorted stuffings from ordinary to not-so-ordinary), good greek salads. 6 or 7 beers on tap, and they even stock Guinness. Cheap too. You can't beat it for pizza in Gwinnett.
