Good, but not great....Ever had that feeling? – This store is trying to make a comeback in my opinion. With newer employees, parkinglot security cameras, and better deals Walmart on Rockbridge Rd. is just catching up to other stores. I recently bought a Garmin nuvi 200 (a navigational device) which saved me a whopping $50, which was great considering gas prices these days. I will be honest the employees are not extremely helpful and just seem to mind themselves, but some are very helpful. Walmart isn't an incredible career choice in my opinion and I believe the people working there aren't thrilled either so they tend to show apathy towards the employees. Their employees at this store are very multiracial, which is great don't get me wron, but many of which don't understand what is going on, not only due to a language barrier, but also because they are lacking a general awareness of what else is going on. I feel like sometimes you just have to know what to get and use online resources to help you shop at Walmart. I maybe get a hello once at the entrance and a may I help you once, typically at the MacDonald's inside. If you have ever been to a Walmart you probably understand how they work. It is a huge place that has much to offer. I think that this store is fairly decent, but needs improvement. I think the Target less than 5 minutes away is better, but hey it is Walmart, it is pretty cheap and there is also a gas station at this Walmart. It is hard to write a review on something when you just want to throw out every bad thing, so I will leave it at that. This was my first review ever written and I hope a seventeen year old male can be informative.
Sam would roll over in his grave if he knew how lousy this store has become – This store is, without a doubt, the worst Walmart in the world! The employees are not at all helpful and the management seems okay with it. I used to go to this location as it's close to my job, but now I avoid it like the plaque.
A decade and a half ago, I worked at Walmart while I was in school. Aside from the name, there is no likeness between the two stores. One time I went to get replacement tires and waited over half an hour for someone to help me. After I explained that the tires' price should be prorated, they claimed only a manger can do that and there was no manager on duty. So I went to the customer service desk and asked for the store manager. Of course, they weren't there either, so after explaining my problem, I was directed to the automotive manager, who was the same guy who told me there was not a manager on duty! Somehow, in my half hour trip to the customer service desk, this guy was promoted to manager and could then help me. What a miracle! Liars.
The only department that could be worse is the pharmacy. The girl just stares at me when I try to pick up my prescription, if they have it at all. I watched my doctor call in a prescription and they don't me that my doctor never called it in. So I had my doctor call them as I stood there. Then I was told they were out of it and to come back in three days. Three days later, I returned and was told they gave my prescription to someone else! I ended up having to go to their sister store to fill the prescription.
The employees would rather text on their cell phones or sit around talking to each other than to have to get up and help a customer. I get the feeling that they think I should be grateful to give them my money. And that is if you can find someone who speaks English, or at least English that a normal person can understand.
I worked customer service for several years and I know what customer service is and is not. This store fails in every category; in a word: despicable.
The familiar smiley face representing the world's largest retailer stands for dependably low prices and customer service. – In Short
What started as Sam Walton's vision in 1962 now accounts for more than $200 billion in annual sales. The well-respected discount store emphasizes value, customer care and variety. Thirty-six departments offer everything from shoes to DVD players, including apparel, health and beauty products, electronics, toys, fabrics, craft supplies, jewelry and outdoor equipment. Popular clothing lines include Levi Strauss, Wrangler and No Boundaries. In addition to a wide range of computer equipment, Wal-Mart Connect Internet service is also available.
