Aldo's-Bad Choice. Patrons beware. As a former employee I can say most if not all accounts made so far are true. First, salads after made by a server is scrutinized by the manager, after which time he picks over it till he's satisfied the customer didn't get too much lettuce. Staff is instructed to not cut tomotoes too big or else. The salad dressing is made with 100% cooking oil, not olive oil. Second, 90% of the time all fish is tilapia. Additionally,crab cakes are definitely imitation crab meat. I made a comment about it once and the chef just chuckled. The chicken meat used by the chefs has no taste, and its pounded for so long it is basically rubber. Deserts are precut and put in a cooler sometimes with no plastic covering and they just sit until someone orders it however long that may be. I ate the food once, I got so sick that night I couldn't go into work the next day. The "manager" never apoligized much refund my money. That particular item I had paid full lunch price for it. So many times I witnessed people that were totally dissatisfied with their meal but were charged full price, and there were never any apologizes. Roaches in the kitchen was enough for me to never eat their food. Customer Service there is non existent. The food reviews you have read. Cleaniness was about 50% of what it should have been, except the bathrooms and they were spotless. They don't pay their staff, what you make in tips is what you take home. The manager, Cyrus, knows absolutely nothing pertaining to the business and refuses to learn English, only enough to get by. When you go in there, at least everyone I spoke to thought the owners were Italian. Not so, their Iranians. They think nothing of sticking it to you. The customers as well as their employees. I have been in the food and beverage business for more than twenty years and I would strongly recommend this restaurant close it's doors to business, it's not Italian in name only. And yes the chicken meat is chicken strips. One more thing, the health department came in there twice when I was there and that was a joke, the agent ,she, just walked thru and left. Need I say more???

HORRIBLE FOOD. I visited this place today and had the worst experience that you could possibly have. First I received a glass of water and it had particles of something floating in it, then the hard garlic rolls with dried minced garlic that had been soaked on top with butter poured on top,I ordered the Chicken Marsala.Why? this was the worst when I bit into it ,It bit me back way under cooked. the sauce was so watery and it was not a breast it was chicken strips. when the chicken bit me back I started gagging and just got up and left .the manager followed me out to my car asking me to order something else. No way.

Inconsistent. My husband and I have eaten at Aldo's on several occasions because it is close by. The food can be great sometimes and at other times not so great, which is too bad. However, the garlic rolls in butter are awesome. The restaurant has nice decor and the customer service is great.

AVOID THIS PLACE. I visited Aldo's on Saturday night as a "date night" with my wife. I have to say that I had one of the worst dining experiences that I've ever had. The food was incredibly deficient in every aspect. There was not a single part of my meal that was enjoyable in the least.

To start with, we had "crab" stuffed mushrooms. As I'm eating one of the 4 tiny mushrooms, I notice a piece of imitation crab. I point it out to my wife & she says that she hadn't noticed any imitation crab. 2 bites later she turns to me & says, "I think I just got a piece too." These 4 tiny mushrooms were accompanied by a bowl of rock hard stale garlic rolls.

After the mushrooms, we were brought a salad which literally had a puddle of salad dressing in the bowl. There was enough dressing for 10 salads in our salad bowl.

I ordered the "chef's special" which I was told was grouper with lobster sauce. Since we both really wanted seafood that night I ordered it instead of the chicken parm I had planned on. After about an hour my entree shows up & it is small fish with no seasoning (except for a few pepper flakes) and a sauce served on the side which was more of a paste than a sauce. The sauce was terrible and I could see why they didn't put it on my fish. What really got me though was the fish was NOT grouper at all but rather tilapia.

Upon calling the owner over, he proceeded to yell & point at my wife. His response was that "I wouldn't cheat you" & "I've been in business for 27 years". When I mentioned that the crab was imitation he responded with, "if I served real crab I'd have to charge twice as much." I then pointed out on the menu where it said "crab meat stuffed" and no where was the word imitation. He offered no apology just kept insisting that he was justified in serving us food that was not what he claimed it to be and then charge as if it were grouper/crab. I had a $125 tab for "fake" food and a bottle of wine.

DON'T EAT HERE, YOU & YOUR WALLET WILL REGERT IT.

When good restaurants go bad. Aldo's is an institution in Tucker. We and members of our family have dined there occasionally through the years... always finding it enjoyable. But it did not live up to its reputation when we dined there Saturday night. The restaurant was not crowded, and the reasons soon became evident. The inexperienced and poorly-trained server was sincere but inept. He told us Aldo's had advised him not to quit his day job (musician). Aldo's has a full bar, but the man was clueless about beverages and got the order wrong in spite of our meticulous instructions. When we ordered appetizers he said "That will take a long time." It did and was not worth it. The three little stuffed mushrooms and four little mozzarella sticks ($5.95 each) looked lonely on their plates. The server came to our table about 20 minutes later and said he could not remember whether he had served our salads. He had not and brought the salads with the entrees... telling us the food would get cold if he held it up. The spaghetti and meatballs ($10.95) was the best food of the evening. The veal picatta ($14.95) was also judged excellent. However, the veal romano ($15.95) described as "veal cutlets wrapped with Italian ham and mozzarella cheese, baked then topped with our marsala wine sauce with fresh mushrooms" was a disaster. It was a single blackened cutlet topped with a slice of mozzarella cheese. The whole thing was covered up with a mountain of sauteed mushrooms. The Italian ham and marsala wine sauce were not evident, and what was there was too salty and blackened to eat. But, the server did not remove the entree from our bill. Many restaurants would have comped the dessert at least, but that did not happen. When Atlanta has as many fine Italian restaurants as it does, there is no reason to subject yourself and your palate to the unpredictable service and food at Aldo's.

Could have been better. I went to Aldos in Tucker for my anniversary. The service was impecable, the atmosphere wwas awesome but the food was not great. But the service made up for it .. Dont think I would visit again. Lot of food for the money.
