Love this place, best reason to go to Stone Mtn!!. Just took the family to Stone Mtn Park for the day. The best part about going to Stone Mountain is a visit to the German Restaurant, they never disapoint.

The kids love the cheese speatzle and my wife always goes for the Jeager Shnitzel, I however dont miss an opportuity to get the Shwine Haxe. The Shwine Haxe is a HUGE peace of meat that is out of sight, looks like something a cave man would eat! I love it!!

Oh yes dont forget the draft selection, always great!

Worth another visit!. I've been enjoying this little spot on a regular basis for 10 years and never suffered anything more than being overly-full from the large portions and eating too many of their great homemade pastries. The service has always been good, the food excellent. I saw the reports as well, and have no idea what actually happened (someone with an ax to grind, perhaps a local politician who'd ?) but I've always been delighted with the food and the service. This family-owned restaurant has been in business for 30 years in the same spot - surely they must be doing something right. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and another try. Our city needs more locally owned restaurants and fewer McCheesecake Factories!

I smell a rodent! And so did the Ga Dept. of Agriculture~!. No wonder Stone Mountain Village is a vacant hole! With businesses like this who would WANT to come to this place????

Visit myfox5atlanta to see video and judge for yourself. Search for "false food". Shut down by Ga Dept. of Agriculture for filthy conditions. Also, a 2-part story about customer deception was aired on Fox5 Atlanta. They even took in undercover cameras. Serving pork but calling it veal, then obviously lying about it. You would think that they would take responsibility but so far no dice. Also, adding a chemical preservative to their supposed "all-natural" breads. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

EWWW!. Watch out! Although this place scored an 85 when inspected on January 8, 2007; the state agriculture department shut it down due to filthy conditions. They were force to throw out every bit of inventory. WSB TV in Atlanta, showed mildew growing all over mixing and measuring inplements; and rodent infestation everywhere. The servers were also caught commiting fraud in pricing entrees. I think the best thing to do prior to eating out anywhere in Atlanta is check the health inspection, and subtract 50 points. I can't belive the Dekalb county board of health gave this place anything over a 35 based upon local news footage of actual conditions.

Editorial Review. German-owned bakery connected to restaurant and tavern caters to sweet tooths, brides, and gift-givers.

A nice place to be. For the first time in many years, I found a good round loaf of pumpernickel (spelling?). That got me going and so we had to have some coffee and pastry in the dining area. Every one was super friendly and helpful. We ended up ordering a couple of 2 lb. stolens and bought more bread, which turned out to be excellent. If you are in the Stone Mountain area don't miss this one. Wunderbar!

Shhhhhh......Secret Place. I love this little place. The servers are so friendly and welcoming. I am not crazy about German food but the pastry here is to die for! This place is all about atmosphere and comfort. It is very popular with locals and out of town repeat visitors. We have had soups and salads and coffee and desserts.

Nice try at german food. I have eaten here a few times. It's a nice attempt at authentic German food, and I guess I was disappointed by the fact that the restaurant is owned by Germans. The food was pretty bland, and didn't really resemble German food in taste. However, the service was decent and the servers were friendly.
