“After a few minutes, we were seated in a booth as the sushi bar was completely full.”
“The prices are great; I've eaten at many other sushi places in Atlanta and while others are good, the prices are not as reasonable and the service is not as personable.”
“Phillip, Kevin and the gang provide excellent service of their delicious food and have kept me coming week after week for about 5 years now.”

Timeless. Best sushi and secluded atmosphere..
This place is great for sushi. They're located secretly behind a shopping mall which makes it one of the best kept secrets in Atlanta. You either know of Minato's or you don't. I've eaten sushi all over the Atlanta area and Minato's ranks best in my books still after 15 years.
They're pieces are minute and the service and pricing is impecable.
Secret little sushi hideaway. Fantastic sushi. Not cutting edge stuff, but it's very well priced. Service is very good and makes you feel at home. This place is a little hard to find but once you found it you'll come back again and again.
Great Service Good Food.
My wife and I have been eating sushi for quite sometime now, being new to Atlanta and based the the previous reviews we tried this place. Keep in mind we've eaten sushi in Hong Kong, San Fran, NY and many other places.
The construction of the sushi was medicore, if I can bite a salmon sushi in half and it doesn't fall to pieces I like that. The eal was made different than any other place; the've used a differen't sweet sauce or something. All in all not too bad, but certainly not the best in town.
The staff was very attentive and your tea is always full. The courses were brought out at weird times, for example the salad came, then a appetizer, then some sushi and finally our miso salad.
A Taste of the Orient. Futo Maki, a.k.a. Big Roll, is the standard by which I rate all Japanese Restaurants. The Futo Maki at this restaurant rates a perfect ten!!!
Ichiban!. Smyrna's best kept secret! Phillip, Kevin and the gang provide excellent service of their delicious food and have kept me coming week after week for about 5 years now.
Top-notch sushi on the cheap in Cobb County..
The Scene
This Japanese restaurant in the back of a Smyrna strip mall doesn't impress with appearances. Decor is typical in its Asian-influenced sparseness, the menu looks predictable, and the location is not necessarily optimal. But outstanding food--at a very reasonable price--hides behind nondescript surroundings, attracting a mix of couples, singles and families. A swift and helpful staff, dim lighting and the right volume of background music enhance the experience.
The Food
Across the menu, offerings are fresh, prepared-to-order and plentiful. Minato's sushi chefs don't fall prey to extemporaneous additions that detract from the sushi's true flavor. Detailed offerings, such as the Rainbow Roll, best exhibit the chefs' creativity and skills; but standard fare--California rolls, Spicy Tuna, an assortment of sashimi--also performs well. Appetizers including $1 miso soup and $2.50 edamame are a steal. Both the wine and sake lists are scarce, yet, like everything here, affordable.
An long time favorite !. I've been eating sushi here for 10 years. There isn't a better sushi value in the city. Kevin is the head sushi chef and has been there as long as I've been going. You can't beat the quality or selection. Its hard to find but its worth the effort.
