Just Do It. It is the kind of place that feels like home. No need to order if you are a regular....the staff remembers exactly what you order and what you drink. Very nice family owned business.

It is just easy...and consistently good. I see regulars in Minato all the time. Just do it....and order the "No Name Sushi"....it is amazing.

I love this place!. I've been going to Minato for 20+ years and they never disappoint. The sushi is fresh and creative. I'll drive clear across town for it! Try some off the menu sushi like the Seven Star (fabulous!) or the scallop salad. I bring all the sushi fans here that I know and they love it, too.

good food. Great food! have yet to try the sushi and sashimi (i'm preggers, need to stay away from raw fish) but great salmon teriaki and chicken katsu (they call it chicken cutlet).

Only disappointment is no iced green tea.

Here is a gem!. The service was great and so is the food. My iced tea never went empty and the food was there very soon after I ordered. I ordered the Minato Sushi plate which came with a nicely dressed small salad and Miso soup. The Sushi was terrific, everything was amazingly fresh and well done.

As far as finding it goes, this is my first time visiting this area and I really had no problem finding it.

Less tip, the meal came to just over $20, which is far less than I'm used to paying for a similar size portion of equal quality in San Francisco.

My waiter did say that on a busier night when they are packed the service is slower.

Definitely worth the wait.. Best. Sushi. Ever. It is worth the wait. I go there at least every other Saturday. I was there a few weeks ago and saw a couple that had never been there and was irritated about the 15 minute wait. Their loss.

Once you go, you will be hooked. They are a family owned restaurant and only have three servers and two cooks. They are lovely people and serve the best sushi. It is best to go early or try them for lunch to see how good they really are.

Try the cowboy hat and Pat sushi. See you on Saturday's!

Crowded with no service. After reading several positive reviews, we went into Minato last night (a Saturday). It's off a small parking lot at the back of a strip mall. Once inside, we saw the restaurant was crowded, which we considered a good thing. After a few minutes, we were seated in a booth as the sushi bar was completely full. We sat down and immediately noticed that we weren't given a wine list (their drinks aren't on the food menu). We then looked thru the sushi options and decided which rolls to try. And then we sat...and sat....and sat. Fifteen minutes later, we still hadn't had a single server come by--and we weren't even able to flag one down. So we got up and walked towards the door. Right before I exited, a waitress stopped me to briefly apologize, but she never offered to take care of us if we sat back down. We just left and went elsewhere. I was surprised by the bad experience, especially given other reviews of the good customer service. We just didn't find it there.

Simply the best. The staff has an uncanny way of remembering people - if you come with any frequency, you'll feel like family in no time. You get the feeling that you are at the Cheers bar - where everybody knows your name! Fresh is an understatement and the chefs - Kevin and Ming - will not hesistate to make you something special when they are not slammed. I must say I feel like I am cheating on Kevin when I have sushi anyplace else and none has been better since I started coming here. No pretense - simply wonderful food and excellent service - it is simply the best I have ever had! Great spot for lunch too.

Best sushi ever. I have been going to Minato for about 8 months. Went one time at the recommendation of a friend, and now I never go anywhere else. Once you find the place and taste the freshness, coupled with the hospitality of the staff (Kevin, Ming, Pat), it feels like home. It's a cheers bar with sushi, always loaded with friends you know. Try the "cowboy hat", a house specialty.

Best Sushi in town. I've been eating at Minato weekly (and sometimes daily!) for several years. Kevin and Ming are very attentive and make sure you have everything you need. Pat and Phillip always are efficient and so wonderful to talk to. I feel like family when I'm there. I've since taken everyone I know to Minato, and everyone ends up hooked! Try the crab salad roll, but beware--it's addictive! Kevin's albocore special is awesome as well!

The prices are great; I've eaten at many other sushi places in Atlanta and while others are good, the prices are not as reasonable and the service is not as personable.

This place rocks.... My girlfriend and I love to eat Japanese food. We might stick to basic things, but we love it nonetheless. We've ate at restaurants in Chicago, Indianapolis, Charlotte, St louis, Nashville, and now Atlanta. Minatos was by far the best of all of them. The staff was very friendly and attentive and we liked the overall feeling of the place. But the food, oh boy. The ginger salad dressing was great and the misso soup was top notch. The lady had some veggie rolls while I had some ebi. Very good stuff. Then we had a tempura appetizer which was so insanely good. For are main meals she had vegggie curry and I had yaki udon. Both were excellent and plentiful. This might be a hard place to find but it is well worth it. Prices were fair as well. It is well worth trying out.
