Overview
Located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, the Nature Center is home to a variety of woodland and wetland critters--waterfowl, birds of prey, reptiles. You might even spot a beaver or otter rippling through a pond. Injured owls, hawks, raccoons and other animals are brought here for rehabilitation and eventual return to the wild. Short interpretative hiking trails and a scenic river boardwalk let you spend as little as an hour or most of the day in the wilds of this natural habitat without really roughing it.
The Appeal
Kids love the live-animal demonstrations, usually held in the exhibition center, where they can also watch honeybees at work or peek into "life in a log." Among the center's special programs is an overnight camping experience complete with a workshop on nocturnal animals.

I'm really glad to have and support the Chattahooche Nature Center. My kids enjoy the activities there, and especially the night time events during Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Very reasonable prices for the experience delivered to the kids. Another reason why Roswell is such a nice community.
