The Scene
A bright yellow peace sign greets guests at the house where chef-owner Bill Greenwood creates his always-in-season dishes. Greenwood's decor, which ranges from Elvis memorabilia to framed Grateful Dead posters, will make both Southern grandmas and Berkeley hippies feel at home. Service is energetic, if, at times, harried. Plan to wait before being seated.
The Food
Fresh, innovative fare rules the deceptively simple meat-and-three menu. Sweet, tangy fried chicken dipped in a crunchy honey-pepper batter is cooked to order and worth the 30-minute wait. Boneless pork chops sauteed in sage butter arrive fragrant and tender. Vegetables are the real highlight. Collard greens have just enough of an apple cider-vinegar bite; cheesy broccoli casserole is all homey goodness; black-eyed peas are lovingly simmered in a heady vegetarian broth. Dessert is required. Finish with a massive slice of strudel-like cherry pie and homemade vanilla ice cream.

Greenwoods has a fantastic, quaint atmosphere in Roswell. The food is the classic home cooking of the south with greens, mac and cheese, fried chicken, broccoli casserole, etc. All of it is freshly made and tastes wonderful! The pies are a must...even if you have to take a slice home for later on. The meals will fill you up with plenty of leftovers to spare.

Haven't been here in awhile cuz we moved--but now that I saw it online--I am going next week, I miss it so much. Everything is good , but way to big of portions so you should really share an entree and all the fixins with a friend or plan on taking left overs. Service always excellent. Somtimes long wait but sit and chill in the country ambience.

Love this restaurant. I guess that's because I'm a crab cake lover being from Baltimore, and they have the very best crab cakes in Atlanta. They are really Maryland crab cakes. So, it's worth a trip there just for that. And it's a nice, friendly family restaruant.
