Amazing service...

Went here for the first time w/ a group last weekend, and I coudlnt get over how I had lived in the neighborhood for so long and had never heard of this little gem. Located in the Kinko's shopping center off Windy Hill and Cobb, I must have walked by it 1000 times before and never paid much notice. But the food was good, the atmosphere merry, and we had a great time. You can choose to sit around the grill, and watch the cook personally prepair your meal--which I recommend, because they put on a show at the same time...awesome and very entertaining!! But what really made this RuSan's stand out against other Japanese restaurants that offer similar services was the Manager...he walked around to every table, checking in w/ everyone, laughing w/ everyone, and making sure everything was exactly as we wanted. He really made the experience...
- Pros: attentive and personable service
- Cons: was a little cold (temperature wise.)
Crawling creature at Rusan's-marietta
by Deb78 at Citysearch
I ate at Rusan's in Marietta today. I was sitting at the Sushi bar when a creature (this site will not let me write the what exactly it was, but let's say it is large and they typically run away when you turn the lights on) crawled on the counter where my plate was. I told the Sushi chefs and they laughed and pretended to stab the ___ with a knife one was holding. I walked up to the hostess, told her there was a ____ on my table and left the restaurant. I almost threw up several times on the way to my car. I was a frequent diner at this restaurant-at least twice per month. I will not go back there.
Great food, but....

The food I've had was great every time: spinach gomai, kimchee, hamachi kama, futomaki, Asian salads, but single diners beware: the chefs won't shout a "welcome/hello" greeting to you while certain waitstaff treat you like an annoying interruption to their day. I believe it's because they know I never consume more $15 worth of food although the minimum is $10, so they're not making the tips they want, though I do tip a minimum of 20%. If that stigma was not held against me as a single diner and they would lose the greedy attitude, then they would have my business every week. Instead, I just stopped going. Too bad, because I miss the food.
- Pros: Great food, great menu variety
- Cons: discriminating service, bitter waitstaff
