Tips for Jeweler on the Square

February 20, 2013

I love Jeweler on the Square! They have a wonderful selection of quality jewelry. Gerald and Ginger are wonderful owners who go out of their way to befriend their clientele. I have never been there that I did not feel welcomed. Going there is like stepping back in time to when you were greated by name when you visited after only having been there a couple of times. I cannot imagine anyone else creating my jewelry pieces except Gerald from now on. He knows exactly what I like and goes out of his way to ensure that he can provide it. Thank you for a job well done, Gerald and Ginger!

Absolutely amazing experience. I walked in to Jewelry just to look and see what they had available as far as their diamond ring selection. I fell in love with a ring almost immediately! Ginger informed me that she and Gerald could re-size my ring and do a rhodium dip all while I waited. So, I wandered about the place for maybe 20 minutes tops, and successfully didn't go nuts and buy everything I wanted (there are so many beautiful pieces from paintings to knives to Asian artifacts to Native American jewelry! And everything in between!) Once my ring was finished, It was so beautiful! I highly recommend Jewelry on the Square for any type of jewelry repair, appraisal or purchase, and of course, for your antiquing needs.

NOW I have a jeweler I trust. I went in to replace the aquamarine in my engagement ring (it has fallen out TWICE and reset and now finally LOST) (I bought it at New Jewelers in Gwinnett STAY AWAY FROM THEM). Ginger brought out tray after tray after tray of precious stones for me to look through until we found the right stone, and in the process found two perfectly matched aqua's that will be custom made in to earrings!! THANKS you guys.

Gerald and Ginger are knowledgeable and friendly and will take all the time you need to make sure you are completely happy! :)

Beautiful Jewelery, Great Service!!. I have been shopping with Jeweler on the square for the past two years. Every time I go in, Gerald and Ginger are always friendly and helpful. Gerald is very up front, honest, and makes no bones about the quality and pricing of all of his items. Many people may find him aggressive or "rude", but I find him to be refreshing and honest. He is always willing to work with your budget and accommodate your needs. Ginger is a very attentive and knowledgeable salesperson, I have always found her to be helpful and friendly. I have sold gold and jewelry to Gerald and I am looking forward to the purchase of my engagement ring this week! I would not have chosen any other place to buy. Thanks to everyone there for making the jewelery buying process fun, easy, and personal!

Always a Great Experience at Jeweler on the Square. For the last seven years I have been purchasing jewelery here. He and his staff are extremely helpful, and their jewelery is unique and beautiful. Gerald is always honest and forthright about making a deal. When I decided I wanted to get a new ring instead of one I had bought there a few years back, he and Linda were thorough and helpful not only in finding the new ring but also in working a deal of exchange for me. My friends and I absolutely love Jeweler on the Square! I will be back!

Beautiful Wedding Ring. I recently went into Jeweler on the Square to have my wedding ring sized and also to replace a missing diamond. Nine years ago, my husband and I picked out my wedding ring. The associate, Linda, was so helpful. She remembered my three favorite rings so that when my husband came back in, he could pick one to give me when we exchanged our vows. Now, nine years later, I needed to have it fixed so that I could once again wear it proudly. Gerald did such a great job! The ring looks new again!

Just a terrible experience. My fiance and I purchased an engagement ring from Jeweler on the Square and intended to buy the matching wedding band, which we placed on hold. Now, from the beginning we experienced difficulty getting Gerald's associates to order the new mounting for our stone without several(3)reminders over a month and a half, though it eventually got done. We love the engagement ring and were happy enough to put any mild annoyance aside. The place was disorganized, often closed at hours, ect but no really big deal. We placed the matching wedding band on hold, intending to make two separate payments. We were assured that this was no problem and under no circumstances would the ring be sold. On Christmas eve I called to make sure the ring was on hold, in my name and informed the, frankly scatter-brained, yet sweet associate I would be in the day after Xmas to make a payment. I was again assured my ring was on hold in my name. I did go by on the 26th around 3pm to pay, only to find the shop closed. No answer on the phone. Ok, no big deal...day after a holiday. Next day, 4pm closed. Well, on the morning of the 31st my fiance' received a call from the same associate with whom I spoke informing her that her ring had just been sold. After a tearful call from my fiance' I immediately called and spoke to the associate, who claimed no recollection of our previous conversation(a week prior.) After reminding her of several points we had spoken about, she did recall and, to give her credit, was gracious enough to let me voice my EXTREME displeasure. We're Marietta born and bred people from generations of Mariettans and I just hate that this experience marred my view of a corner of the Square on which I grew up. These folks were nice. They mean well. They should, under no circumstances be trusted with anything important or meaningful to anyone. This is the example of how not to operate a small, local business. I advise anyone who sees this to STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!

This is my go-to jeweler!. I have been doing business with Gerald for about 13 years now, and during that time, I have probably spent $20k there. The store is set up in a way that rewards time and patience. There is so much to see and almost always, I end up with something that I didn't notice on my first pass through the cases. Go through the cases slowly and multiple times--I bet you'll find what you want! Some of my most precious pieces came from Gerald's. My other half knows I like nothing better than a bender on antique jewelry for birthdays and Christmas. There are only two people working there,so sometimes you might have to wait a few minutes. If you expect 3 salespeople to run to you as soon as you walk in, this is not the place for you. If you want fine antique and handmade jewelry at great prices and someone who will tell the truth about the items he sells, Gerald is your guy.

Great place to do a custom design!. My fiance and I got our wedding bands here and we couldn't be happier. His ring was a custom design and Gerald made sure that everything came out perfectly!

Gerald and Ginger made the process so much more personal than I could have asked. I wouldn't go anywhere else to get a custom ring done because the product you end up with here is unbeatable at the price and service.

Charming Jeweler Saves the Day!. I love vintage and estate jewelry and Gerald has quite the offering. I've been going to him for about 3 years now to repair some of my most dear items and he does it with grace and skill. In fact, today, he repaired a bracelet of mine that I thought was ruined forever. And he did it with his bare hands! I also took him up on his suggestion to update the design a bit, and I couldn't be happier. If you love vintage jewelry, or have a sentimental piece that needs a little TLC, take it to Gerald. He is wonderful and will repair each piece as if it were his own. The girls in the shop are super fun too!
