Super cool Lp selection. The owners really know how to pick them. This is the place I love coming to
Very unpleasant, complete lack of customer service.
So I drop by here because I heard they buy used records. And my grandmother died last December shortly after my grandfather moved to the old folk's home, so that left my family a lot of work in cleaning out their old house. They had a bunch of old records, so I handpicked the ones I thought would have the most public interest, and after hearing about this place, I headed down to the square.
Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience here with the way the guy who runs the place treated me. He told me to put the records on a bench and then completely cold shouldered me, talking on the phone the whole time, briefly thumbing through the records. After he hangs up the phone he just says "no i'm not interested in any of these?"
so I respond, "Not even Also Sprach Zarathustra? That's where the music for 2001 a space odyssey came from?"
And he glances at it and just says "nope"
So I reply, "Do you just look for pop music here or something?"
And he says "no."
Jesus christ man. You cannot run a store with such a small vocabulary. His behavior ruined my mood for the day and encouraged me to sign up for this website so I could let some steam off.
Lesson: do not interact with people if you are antisocial.
A sneaky-cool vintage shop in the suburbs..
In Short
Don’t be shocked ITP’ers, Antiques on the Square is a spot where both the antiquing East Cobb snob and pretentious L5P hipster will be equally impressed. Cool vintage antiques are packed along mountains of Life magazines from the 60s, postcards from the 20s (complete with pencil-scrawled love letters and postage markings), and larger items like an old-school pinball machine or glass bar set. However, the absolute best part of this store is the amazingly stout vinyl record collection. The owner has an encyclopedic knowledge of the amazing jazz, rock, and country records taking up the back room. Hard to find Beatles, Dylan (labeled Mr. Dylan) and Columbia six-eyed jazz records can be found here at mega-low prices, including a massive dollar bin
Fantastic record selection.

The store owner is very friendly, and knowledgeable; he speaks with great passion about his stock.
The store has a wide selection of photography equipment (Which seems to hold a special place in the owners heart), military paraphernalia, books, magazines (esp. Look Magazine, popular mechanics), typewriters, and toys, among other things.
But what makes this store truly special, in my opinion, is the expansive and ever changing collection of new and vintage vinyl. They have a huge selection ranging from classic Jazz albums, to Janis Joplin , to Joan Jett, to Jack Johnson, with several stops in between ( and bands that don't start with two J's)
to the Beatles and other 60s rock and pop bands
Fabulous Treasures.
You must be a collector or in love with our heritage or you would not be researching this site. Therefore, from one to another, please patronize this special place. If I could afford to keep the owners in business, I would not suggest their store....keeping it all for myself!
Stop by .... if you love antiquing, I dare you to leave without something.
Like a pocket-sized Smithsonian, this store's inventory catalogs every aspect of early American life..
The Scene
If you have time to visit only one of the many antique shops clustered around Marietta's idyllic Glover Park, make it this one. The award-winning store never fails to fascinate with finds from beaded flapper-era handbags to Saarinen tables and chairs. The shop feels like a quirky old museum, its shelves and cases overflowing with curiosities. The space is so packed it's easy to bump into the displays. But the high quality of its artifacts makes other dealers look like amateurs.
The Goods
No cheap imports or decorative accents here. These strictly authentic antiques span a remarkable range of genres. Specialties include dishes, musical instruments, sporting equipment, books, cameras, wooden hand tools, phonographs, record albums, military artifacts and furniture. Visiting the store is practically educational.

You could easily get lost in the 50,000+ square feet of evrything imaginable. A great place to take out of town visitors or to spend the day. The bargains and variety here are incredible.
