MESSINAS RESTAURANT. Shah is the best , gets everything right all of the time and very friendly!! Get take out from there all of the time! Eggplant Parm is the best I have ever had!
Bad service - food not as good as the past. I have eaten at Messina many times in the past, but I was told it has recently changed management. The service was horrible, even so I told the manager and he did not seem to care. The food in the past with the old owners was great, enough for us to make the drive out to them, but not again. Unless the management changes its ways I could not recommend.
Great food, perfect atmosphere for that special dinner!. Shah is absolutely correct! Messina's offers marvelous Mediterranean cuisine served by well-trained, delightfully European, waiters, a fact that enhances the authenticity. There is an air of deference gently mixed with good cheer --- Perfect for the born-and-bred Southerner, who appreciates courtesy along with plenty of beautifully prepared food. Candles flicker softly, and the music is most romantic. Messina's is just the place for that special dinner, and the prices won't bite. We will be back often!
yummiest pizza!. the pizza is the best!!! i went once and had a excellent server. the second time i went i had a pretty bad server but the food was still awesome. he messed up my order and we weren't charged for it.
Messina's is always a great choice!!!.
My family has been going here for a long time, the owners are great, very family friendly, very polite all around nice guys. They really care about your dining experence. The Gyro's are some of the best in town, the meat is always moist and flavorful without being overpowering. Great hummus and salads. We have not had any of the Italian food because all the Greek food is so good, we always choose it.
I have always enjoyed their pizzas, you can tell they are made with fresh ingredients.
Messina's has also done catering for me and my school district. Everyone was thrilled with their food and also their service during the catering event, they handled everything and even cleaned up after theirselves and the guest!!! My husband is getting take out from Messina's right now!!!
Best Restaurant in Gwinnett!!!! Guaranteeeed. First off i would like to thank everyone for even looking at our ratings. I'm one of the owner at Messina's. I handle the front and my brother handles the kitchen. I would like to invite everyone to Messina's we are a family owned restaurante, so therefor things can get hectic sometimes. We have excellent and very fresh Greek and Italian plates. Our wait staff is very friendly and mostly quick (not always :-( ) . Well for those who did have a bad experience i dare them to come back and ask for me!!! I will guarantee them excellent service and food. Try meeeee!!! Well if you like to eat great food localy for a very reasonable price, and did i mention the best Greek Wine in Atlanta, come and see us. You won't regret it!!!!
Great service and food. We went on a Thursday night and started off with a bad impression- stood at the front for 4 minutes waiting to be greeted and sat, then were led to our booth which was dirty and sticky, and following our order of a bottlle of cab, was given a glass with rather obvious lipstick stains. These were pointed out to our server who was very friendly and apologetic and fixed the problem. We ordered a hummus appetizer (not the best hummus I've ever had) and a platter which came with gyro meat, souvaki (pork tenderloin, sorry not sure of the Greek spelling), Greek potatoes and a Greek salad. This platter for only $12 was so much food that it was enough for 2 more meals! My boyfriend ordered the gyro wrap and thought the gyro meat was delicious. The server was very polite and came at the right times to check on us (I am a server at a fine dining restaurant and so I GREATLY appreciate when I have a good service--times which are few and far between) We had a bottle of wine, appetizer, and 2 entrees plus one salad for $40...not bad for (mostly) great food and service!!!
Have become a regular customer!!. I have eaten at this restaurant many times since I first discovered it approximately 6 months ago. I have only been disappointed once and that was with a new server who had my table wait for over 20 minutes for an appetizer that was brought out with the entre and the entre was not what was ordered. However, management came to the rescue, corrected the problem to my satisfaction and life has been good ever since. I favor the Greek cuisine because you can go just about anywhere in town and get Italian food, but there are not that many restaurants specializing in Greek cuisine. I recommend Messina's to anyone who enjoys a relatively quiet atmosphere with friendly yet excellent service. I love the Mousaka!!
Avoid on Friday nights. Definitely avoid Friday nights, understaffed. Food took too long to arrive and the wait was not worth it. Lasagna had too much cheese on it and was too chewy. Pizza crust was burned on the bottom and not well done on the top. Good Greek salad, though. Has had two ownership changes back-to-back and it reflects on the staff morale.
