In Short Don’t let the fact that this place smells like a cafeteria circa 1985 deter you from entering, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. A hidden Emory haunt, Melton’s is no style, all substance. Sure, it seems like period piece from a decade you’ve been trying to forget (read: not a good first-date place) but the bar food is outstanding, namely their chicken finger basket. Casual atmosphere with good food and beer

My family has been going to Melton's for years and we find it consistently good. It is very family-friendly, but in a low-key way. My kids say that Melton's mac n cheese is the best anywhere. The staff is friendly and many of them have been there for years. The food is good and there are always several different beers on tap. There are a couple big screen TVs for watching sports. It is just an easy, neighborhood spot that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Best Burger in Metro Atlanta

Forget the Vortex! Melton's burger is the best in Atlanta. The waffle fries with the "mystery" dipping sauce are a perfect match for the burger. The service is always fast and friendly and the food is always fresh and hot.

this place is family-friendly (a pro or a con, depending on how you feel about children) but my bf and i always belly-up to the bar and hope that tony, mike or carrie will be behind it. the menu is simple, consistent bar fare. i only wish they served liquor as well. there are so many regulars that it takes a while to become one here, but once you are, you can expect exceptional service over the standard good service they always give. every time we go in, it feels like the staff is happy to see you. where does that happen anymore?

- Cons: avoid family-hour if you dont like kids
