there are other Mexican places

The first thing my friend did was to go to the bathroom. It's usually an indicator of the place. According to her, it was dirty and grimy and smelly. The food was mediocre and the wait staff took too long to serve the food. There are plenty of other places you can go to for Mexican.

Great food and fun!

This is a comfortable, casual restaurant with delicious food. The menu is easy to understand which is not always the case at other Mexican restaurants.

A family operated business with excellent service and food. What more could you want?

Pros: Consistently delicious food
Cons: small bathrooms (but it's clean!)

Shocked at how good it was.

I'll be the first to admit, I've driven by Mexico City Gourmet 100's of times, but never stopped in. The other day, we were craving a margarita and stopped by for a quick bite and a couple of drinks. What I didn't realize was their margarita recipe is something really, really special. So, we decided to hang out there for a bit. The house specialities are where it's at-- this is where the restaurant shines. We will be back soon.

Decatur's Most Authentic, Flavorful Mexican Restaurant

Dropped by Mexico City in Decatur the other day and tried the place out. The manager, Larry was very cool and welcoming. All the recipes are family recipes and were amazing. Try the specialities and not just the traditional combos. I'll be back.

Pros: Live Music on Fridays, Margaritas

Terrible. NEVER go there. Zero Stars.

Who runs out of RICE at a Mexican restaurant? And that wouldn't have been a big deal, all the waiter had to say was "I'm really sorry, we ran out of rice, what can I substitute for you instead?" Rather, when we asked where the rice was, we got "Oh we ran out. Sorry." and he walked away. And we got to the restaurant ...at 9:00, were not served dinner until almost 11 pm. I didn't eat it, I had the waiter immediately bring a box. His tip was the rice he failed to mention did not exist. So I don't know how the food tastes. Unacceptable. Awful service, I will be warning everyone I know not to go there.
