This swanky art gallery and gift shop located in Decatur square is a must-shop for art lovers. The store's decor of purple walls and hand-blown glass fixtures hanging from the ceiling of this 2,000 square feet store are as eclectic as the hand-crafted pieces on displayed. Ask the helpful staff for the background and artist, there's an interesting story for each piece in the store.

Browse through home accessories like hand-carved wood, ceramic frames, jewelry boxes and bowls. Fine unique wares by local artists in this well-stocked store including jewelry by Katherine Palmer and Victoria Greenhood, cotton throw rugs by Salvaj and handblown glass bird feeders by Loretta Ebby.

Whenever we are visiting the Decatur Square, for Breakfast at Pasterie's A' GoGo, Brunch at Watershed, or any of the annual festivals here, we cannot resist going into By Hand South. The two owners, always make us feel like family. Their gallery is absolutely stunning. Hand-blown glass, pottery, one-of-a-kind custom jewelry, on down to windchimes and wonderful Gary Rosenthal creations. We cannot walk into this studio, without walking out with something. That's a bad thing, but a good one. It's a blessing, a mitzvah, to make beautiful, functional art.
Pros: Quality Artist Creations! Gary Rosenthal Collection!
