Best Groomer EVER!!!

We have a standard poodle who wears his hair really fluffy. When we moved here from Chicago we had so may bad experiences from eye infections, ear infections, and many cuts. A friend of mine is a vet and recommended we try the Yankee Clipper. The dog lovers dream groomer! If you want the proper cut where someone actually cares about your dog, look no further!
- Pros: A groomer who actually understands the breeds
- Cons: non I can think of

Not for large animals .....

It wasn't such a friendly experience for me. I called in advance to set up an appointment for my two dogs. One is medium sized, the other large, both being around 65 pounds. The owner seemed very hesitant because of the size, but made the appointment even though I offered to try a different groomer. I arrived at the appointed time, the owner looked at the dogs, and said that I had missed my appointment time; no groom for you! She closed the door and went about her way without offering to reschedule. I can only assume that she didn't want to do the work. Nice that it took an hour from my workday! Moral of the story: if you have a smallish pet and enjoy quirky small business folk this may be your place. If you have large animals and value your time go somewhere else.
- Pros: It was a nice drive to Avondale.
- Cons: Lost wages.

Avondale Yankee Clipper is owned and run by one person - the service is very professional and personal. In addition to getting a great grooming, the owner will give you tips on how to improve the health of your pet and how to train your pet. I used the owners advise with my overweight & fowl breathed Daschund. Now, he weighs 12 pounds less and his breath smells a world better!
