The Scene – The folks behind Oakhurst's Universal Joint turned another rehabbed gas station into a quintessential neighborhood bar. As friendly and low-key as U-Joint, Brake Pad features a larger patio and slightly more of a restaurant feel. Its crowd reflects the diverse neighborhood, which is one exit from the airport and high on Atlanta's gentrification list. A blend of suited professionals, flight attendants and edgy creative types translates to a curious jukebox lineup. – – The Draw – Brake Pad is better known as a bar, but its menu shines. Unappetizing sandwich, lackluster service

Cute funky place with a perfect "grub pub" menu (burgers, sandwiches). The Cuban Panini was fine and the fries were great. The Fried Grouper Sandwich was awful! It arrived looking barely cooked-- as pale and white on the outside as it was on the inside. Our food was plunked down and the waitress never came back to the table. The place was only half full and she passed our table several times while visiting other tables, but she wouldn't even glance our way. I should have sent the grouper back. Our drinks ran out. We finished eating and waited for the check. Seeing our empty glasses, the waitress offered drinks to go. But no, thanks, I'd rather have had it with my meal. Maybe the service is better at other times and maybe the other items on the menu are better than the grouper, but I'd try another place before I'd go back.

Please dont let the previous comments about the brake pad keep you from trying out this uniquely wonderful place! It is a great neighborhood bar, but with that obviously comes individuals opinions about their friends/staff and situations that may occur in the business. The Brake Pad has a large outdoor patio, with a portion of it covered during the winter so you can still enjoy the outdoor feel. There is a wide variety of delicious food on the menu, including burgers, sandwiches, tilapia tacos, to-die-for wings & buffalo chicken sandwiches & quesadillas, and so much more! There are also daily specials on new food items & beer, as well as a late night menu so you can snack til midnight! Every monday is trivia and every saturday is a racier trivia! They are both a blast to play! The staff is playful & witty, and you're guaranteed to see familiar faces in there every time you return, with a group of regular customers that dine several times weekly! Please come try it out and see for yourself! (and sorry about the drama posted on here in the other reviews!!! it really has nothing to do with the business!)

I was wondering how a customer would know who the manager on duty was and that they switch from day to day. Why would there be a manager on duty when the manager supposedly works "So many hours that she needs a 3 day weekend every other weekend". Maybe this wasn't actualy a customer but someone else. I'm sure they were out of things-beer & food; and that would fall on who ever was responsible for ordering; but no one is held accountable for what they do and don't do, especially the owners daughter.
