Great Rotating Exhibit's! Georgia Artists! And It's Free!. Just a short distance from our home. and a nice walk, is the MOCA Gallery. When ever we visit the High, we always come here. This is the beginning of a new strip of galleries in Midtown. The everchanging exhibits, includes paintings, sculpture, and photogarphy. We've already made a couple of minor purchases here, for our home. Get on the mailing list, for upcoming events. It's not MOMA, but it's a start for Atlanta!

A unique treasure trove of Georgia's best artistic work..
The Museum
Located just a few blocks north of Atlanta's High Museum of Art, Georgia's first-ever Museum of Contemporary Art opened in 2002. Local founders are focused on Georgia, with a mission to showcase, document and collect the work of artists from around the state. The 3,500-square-foot Midtown gallery is designed with movable walls to allow a variety of temporary exhibitions. A special storeroom makes it easy for curators and scholars to access the entire collection.
The Collection
The museum's permanent collection includes more than 250 works by 110 artists. Collected for over a decade, paintings, prints, sculpture, photography, digital and installation works are at the heart of the solo and group shows here. The pieces are donations from the former corporate collection of CGRAdvisors, an Atlanta-based real estate investment advisory company, and from the private collection of CGR president David Golden.

great art. i have visited this museum on sereral occassions and just love the the place. with local artists works, and clean fresh ahtmosphere. it's a natural. the work of some of these artists is fresh and cutting edge while some are more traditional. i think it's great to have a place for native georgians art work to be viewed. enjoy.

Truly Spectacular Collection. MOCA GA has an amazing variety of works by Georgia artists, displayed in a striking gallery space. The location is easily accessible. MOCA GA is a tremendous leap for our arts and culture.
