I really want to like this place... The beer selection is great (definitely try the Hazlenut Brown, from Rogue Brewery out in Oregon). Also, this is a good place to take the kids--nice and spacious with a decent kids' menu (the chicken tenders are pretty tasty). The food on the regular menu is nothing to be excited about, though. The Irish Nachos are crispy, but lack any flavor; the cheese puffs taste a little chalky. Stick with the burgers.

Decaturites can always use another place to congregate in the neighborhood, and Melton's fills that need. The staff is friendly and the drink selection varied. Too bad the food is mediocre. Eat first, come later to sit, sip and chat with friends on the spacious patio. Don't know if it's because it's fairly new, but on most weeknights, the place is almost deserted after dusk.
