Editorial Review for The Garden Path – by Betsy Riley
The Scene
Most of the Westside's warehouses have been converted into trendy restaurants and boutiques; but this nursery--with its tall, loading-dock style entries--retains its industrial character. Of course, it's still trendy. Owner Tim Bergstrom, a long-time Atlanta landscape designer, knows what's cool--whether the planting is for a tiny urban courtyard or a sprawling Buckhead estate. His huge, green building is filled with a captivating mix of architectural remnants, garden accessories and plant material--piled on long, mismatched tables.
The Goods
The nursery stocks plants suited to Southern gardens, including shade and ornamental trees, native and woodland shrubs, unusual perennials and groundcovers, boxwoods and hydrangeas. There is a large selection of oversized, colorfully glazed planters and freeze-proof Italian terra cotta. But the nursery's most unusual merchandise are European antiques, which range from rustic to formal--like an 18th-century French horse trough or an Italian limestone fountain.
