In Short – Strangely located near the train tracks on Atlanta Rd, a little piece of France seems to be airlifted and plunked down in this suburb. While Douceur’s lack of refinement and small menu is not necessarily what the French are known for, the bakery portion of the restaurant comes damn near close to the fresh breads, pastries, madeleines, and coffees that Paris boasts. Lunch is the best time to visit. Croque Monseirs and Madames are quite tasty with the béchamel and gooey melted cheese, though they should really re-think the bread they choose (try asking to swap out). Do your…

Viva la France

by Nelson A at Citysearch

While visiting Marietta for the Thanksgiving holiday we discovered this wonderful gem. We immediately felt in love with the display cases showcasing the most delightful, delicate and delicious french pastries. We ordered couple of sandwiches like the Croque monsieur and Jambon beurre fromage. We also had an order of the Hash Browns "A la Francaise" (all I have to say is "delicious") you must try...for a later snack we ordered the pumpkin pie creme brulee.

If you are visiting Marietta you must stop and experience a bit of France in the South

  • Pros: great bake goods and sandwiches

Fantastic

This bakery makes the best pastries I have had, and I have been to bakeries all over the U.S. The chocolate tarte, and the fruit tarte are my personal favorites. But, eveything from the brioche to the chocolate logs are exquisite. The owners are also very nice, as are the rest of the staff. I highly, highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fantastic, authentic french pastry.

What a Gem!

by reviewer1992 at Citysearch

I think that Douceur de France is one of the best bakeries in the neighborhood (and probably Metro Atlanta!). Living in Marietta for many years I did not hear about this lovely and very European cafe until now. Cafe food is absolutely amazing; it is very delicious, flavorful, and satisfying. It absolutely makes you want to come back for more. Also, the cafe has a large selection of decadent and wonderful cakes and their pastries and baguettes are an absolutely amazing addition to any breakfast!

  • Pros: Food, Ambience, Parking
  • Cons: None
