What People Are Saying About Top Spice

The Scene – Rich wood and ochre walls draw you into a calming dining room and away from the frenzied strip mall surroundings. An army of servers delivers assistance and food at your leisure. The combination of elegant surroundings and dependable service lures a crowd of regulars that keep the restaurant consistently busy. – – The Food – For starters, go Thai with the tender basil rolls. A Malaysian appetizer, roti canai--a pancake dipped in curry--lacks flavor. Both the Malaysian buah mango chicken--served in mango halves--and the Malaysian pineapple prawn--immense…

Editor's Tips

Know Before You Go:
Despite the restaurant's name, the dishes are served only moderately spicy unless you look very serious when requesting something "hot."
Look Good:
The tempting daily specials are posted at the restaurant entrance. To avoid confusion when ordering, take your time and read them before taking your seat.
What to Drink:
A small wine bar sits prominently at the entrance. You'll find a rather standard selection of $20-$30 wines, most available by the glass.

  1. The atmosphere is excellent, the staff are friendly, the service is excellent and the food is nothing but incredible!
  2. The decorations in there are unique from most of the other restaurants because they are jars of spices and the spices are also carved into the table.
  3. The atmosphere is very nice and I've never had bad service.
  4. Everything from the service, ambiance, food and drinks is just great.
  5. This is also a romantic place to dine, nice decor with dim lighting.

  1. Everything from the service, ambiance, food and drinks is just great.
  2. Seriously, my favorite food at all times which I thought could not taste bad no matter how much you mess it up was bad today:Massaman curry tofu.
  3. The food is good but a little overpriced for the portions given.
  4. The sauce is absolutely wonderful.
  5. food is amazing and the waiters are pretty humorous.
  6. love the Tom Ka soup!
  7. The curries, beef rendang (soft and not chewy), whole fish with spicy sauce, mango and tofu, any tofu and vegetable dishes are just great, even comforting.
  8. The service is prompt and the food was delicious.
  9. The food here is far too expensive to be so pseudo-Thai.
  10. always get good service and tasty food.
  11. The food was good but the service was really bad!
  12. Decor is tasteful, soothing, and allows your food and conversation take center stage.
  13. The food always comes out fresh and hot on dishes big enough to share between two or three people.
  14. If you're looking for a place that does both Thai and Malaysian food and you are local to Toco Hills, this place is good, otherwise try Thai Chili, Tamarind Seed, or Le Thai for Thai food or Penang for better Malaysian food.
  15. found the food very authentic and delicious.
  16. The Curry dishes are delicious, as are most of the Thai Chef specials!
  17. have never been able to find a restaurant that delivered great food until I discovered Top Spice!
  18. Top Spice is a place that puts an interesting twist on Thai and Malaysian cuisine.
  19. The food is always wonderful and the restaurant is very nice.
  20. I'm not an expert on "real" Thai food but this place serves good food.
  21. Everything that I've ever gotten has been good, but I have noted a lack of consistency when ordering the same dishes on seperate occasions.
  22. The atmosphere is excellent, the staff are friendly, the service is excellent and the food is nothing but incredible!
  23. We love thier Shrimp pineapple fried rice, and most of the seafood dishes, (some can be rather spicy) and the beef satays.
  24. Today we went for lunch and received bad service, awful food.
  25. Although the service is good and the price is right, I have to say this is not the real Thai food ( same as many other so called Thai resturants in Atlanta)
  26. They have the best roti canai (puffed bread) served with chicken/potato curry dipping sauce.

  1. key point for me is that they don't kill you with huge portions.
  2. The serving size of the dinner portions were a bit small for being a pricey dinner entree.
  3. The food is good but a little overpriced for the portions given.
  4. And here's the kicker: The prices are VERY reasonable.
  5. consider it a great overall value.

no taste food

by cramond

Lacking in taste, ordered several dishes and their sauces taste exactly same. It seemed like they were just poured on. If you do enjoy good food and do not want to waste money

this is not one of the places to eat.

One of my favorites

by psmadel

I would give them 5 stars except they are not the BEST I've ever had. They are really good though.

I've tried several dishes, but I usually stick with what I like and that is the chicken fried rice. It is very good and has been every time I've gotten it. I've been to the restaurant and had delivery and always good food. I also like the Thai Iced Tea.

They are pretty consistent with the food and so far I have not had any issues with the service.

We had an awesome time dining at Top Spice. We love the Thai cuisine they offered. It's really great tasting. Their food had a unique flavor compared to other Thai restaurants. We had a very lovely evening at this place.

Nice place

by apache6131

We ate there last night since it was one of the top rated Thai places on Yelp. The roti canai was good, but lacking in portion size, not really fit as an appetizer for sharing. I had the beef Rendang, which was ok, but not as good as Penang on Buford Hwy, not enough spice to it. My wife had Prik Khing tofu, which she thought was ok.

Both entrees came out very quickly which was nice, though the drink refills weren't as quick, which was understandable as the place was fairly busy.

If you're looking for a place that does both Thai and Malaysian food and you are local to Toco Hills, this place is good, otherwise try Thai Chili, Tamarind Seed, or Le Thai for Thai food or Penang for better Malaysian food.

  • Pros: Quick Service, good roti canai
  • Cons: Entrees weren't as good as some other places
