Will the novelty wear off?. You can't deny the creativity, taste, and value of the offerings at TdS. And the first couple of times you go, you won't mind waiting to order as you sip imported bottled beers or adequate margaritas. But try to become a regular, and notice that everytime you're waiting in line for 20+ minutes there are numerous empty tables waiting to be filled...the whole concept may turn you off. TdS remains a staple but if the quality or value slips, I know of at least one person who won't be in line anymore.

Delicious! and Cheap!. I have to add to the rave reviews and discount the negative ones. TWO DOLLAR TACOS that are gourmet quality. Yes, the line can become annoyingly long, yes, the waitstaff/order taker can become harried, but WAKE UP! the food is soo yummy--esp. the shrimp corn chowder, and the Memphis taco! If you wanted to be treated like royalty, go to a restaurant where you pay through the nose for service! If you want to go with a crowd, go to a CHAIN restaurant! If you want great, healthy, cheap take out or fast food, come here!

Tacos, too good.
Tacos, tasty, varied, $2 each! In Decature, when the weather is nice, people line up our the door. If you wan to sit or avoid the line, go at 5:30 when they open or on a bad weather day. Good, quick, cheap, original mex. Try the fried fish or chicken tacos.
Always seems like lots of kids there, probably cuz of the great value... and kids love tacos.

Tasty Tacos for the Taking. My first experience at Taqueria Del Sol will keep me coming back for more. I tried 3 of their tacos and the salsa trio. I loved the veggie taco. The beans were excellent, as good as what I used to get when I lived in Texas. The fish taco was something I would order again. The chips were fresh and not greasy. I preferred the fresh tomato salsa over the tomatillo or roasted tomato. I found the service and atmosphere friendly.

Terrible!. I can't believe the audacity of the folks who run this place. I visited their original location and was amazed at the rudeness of the workers there who pressured us to leave to make room for more customers. My girlfriend and I go to the new location in Decatur to meet up for a friends birthday dinner. We had a friend wait in line for us while we sat down with our birthday friend. A worker came over and told us we needed to order something or leave. We said we had a friend in line for us. He told us we couldnt take up space unless we have something in front of us. He made us leave the table. The kicker is that there were still plenty of open tables. He was extremely rude. I vowed never to even set foot in the place again no matter the occasion.

rude attendants. I ordered food for a friend who I was meeting in the restaurant and asked for a table that was big enough for 6 people. They put two tables together and when my friend had not showed up they came over and told me that if she did not come within 5 minutes that they would be removing the table even though the food I ordered for her was still sitting there. The restaurant had 6 open tables. When my friend who loves this restaurant spoke to the man re: is attitude. He told her that he was not rude and that he didn't think he had done anything wrong.

Great cheap food. Great new place for Decatur, best cheap food to be had. Only drawback is ordering at counter can be very time consuming during busy periods. The flow from entrance to counter to table is confusing and cumbersome. Fish tacos are best in Atlanta. Tacos are $1.95 each. What they've done with this former gas station is magnificent. Good margaritas. Just be prepared to stand in line, but food is worth the wait.

great "fast food". Both the Taquerias Del Sol (Decatur and Howell Mill) are outstanding! All the food here is really great, but a few standouts deserve particular mention - the little side orders of greens are uniquely spiced and delicious and the fish tacos are the best around. Good beer selection, yummy margaritas and friendly, efficient staff at both locations.

It's Finally Open!. Best fish tacos and kickin' margaritas! The usually long lines are worth it. Just go in and get a margarita to sip while waiting. Once seated though, you're food will arrive in minutes.
