The Scene – The boutique tacos known by name across Atlanta now inhabit an abandoned Decatur service station. This location has the same urban look as the original: stainless steel tabletops, exposed ductwork and gleaming garage doors. Wooden bowls of oranges, beachy-looking azure cinder block and jewel-tone tequilas add a California feel. Sit in the narrow, space-age breezeway for more airy, semi-outdoor dining. You can expect more families--and the same patient, expectant line--at this address. – – The Food – Authentic Mexican flavors abound. Opt for popular…
Great Food, Not For Some People
by JohnFZacharias
Do not bother to go here if you are a large group, have children, or expect to be waited on hand and foot. Depending on when you arrive you will most likely have to wait in line. This is not a place to lounge around at after you are finished eating. If you have a problem with any of these things, just accept that Taqueria Del Sol is not for you and stay at home so the rest of us who enjoy it don't have to hear you whine.
That said, the food is excellent, and the margaritas are some of the best in town. It is a fantastic place to grab a quick bite to eat.
- Pros: Food is fantastic
- Cons: Unique rules turn off some people
Great food; Terrible service

I agree with other reviews - the food is always fresh and delicious. I don't even mind the lines so much. The main problem is the service. The hours are terrible as well. I arrived one night at 8:59 and was refused service...and it was a take out order....because they close at 9PM. The only friendly person I have found there is the young lady behind the register who takes the orders, cash, and hands out cups. Downtown decatur has only a few "fast food" restaurants. Actually, I can only think of McDonald's and Chik-fil-a, so make that 2 fast food restaurants. I think that's one reason Taqueria does so well: supply and demand. In spite of what others say, there's no need for the staff to be rude and arrogant. They are in a food service business. I don't think a smile and friendly demeanor are too much to ask for. What they need is a little competition.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Service-Very rude
Rude management/wait staff

IF it was solely based on food, I would've given it at least 4 stars....However, the service was HORRIBLE! A friend and I sat at the bar and ordered a $30 pitcher of Margarita. We were still on our first glass when an employee from the Decatur location (perhaps the infamous ROBERT mentioned in the previous post) rudely told us to go sit by the window so that other customers could sit and EAT where we were sitting. Are you kidding me? Where do they think they can get off treating paying customers like that? Last time I checked, a bar was for having drinks. WE eventually sat at a table after ordering food and literrally felt "policed" the entire time. I will definitely report this incident and make my complaint heard loud and clear. In hard times like these you would think patrons would be going out of their way to deliver great service. Not so much at this location. Maybe you are better off going to the Howell Mill or Cheshire Bridge locations instead.
- Pros: Tasty cheese dip and cheese enchiladas
- Cons: Patrons are so desperate to "serve the masses" that they rush you to eat your meal and are EXTREMELY rude if you aren't a "local".
