Dogwood Festival! Sunday Brunch! – My partner and I recently met at Gilbert's for Sunday Brunch, before going across the street to Piedmont Park and The Dogwood Festival. A group of about ten of us met, and had a wonderful time at this cozy little cafe. For just $10.95, we had a very tasty meal of all-you care-to eat. Simply delightful, our personal favorites were Cheese Grits, Grilled Cheese w/bacon, and the Western Omlette. Very easy service-staff, excellent drinks. This made the Dogwwod Festival a very special event. Can't wait to try their dinner menu. Gilbert's All You Can Eat Sunday Brunch for $10.99 is killer!
Food, atmosphere, waiters, bartenders....all are excellent at Gilbert's!! – I have been a fan of Gilbert's since the days it was a small neighborhood deli and I lived in Midtown during those days. Now Gilbert's has evolved into a truly fine-dining restaurant with an exceptional menu and an outstanding bar scene. The waiters are professional, the bartenders are the best in Atlanta, and even though I have moved out of Midtown, I still enjoy a few nights every week among friends at Gilbert's. The calamari with extra spicy dipping sauce and the stuffed peppers are my personal favorite appetizers but I've never been dissappointed with anything on the menu.
Great food in a relaxed atmosphere ! – The new menu at Gilbert's has been great so far. Because I live in the neighborhood, I'm there at least once and week (obviously, I like it a lot). It's a welcoming little neighborhood restaurant with great bartenders, involved and friendly owners, and eager-to-please waitstaff. The gazpacho is my personal favorite, and the hummus and tira misu never disappoint! Try it, you'll love Gilbert's.

Please advise us if there is anything we can do for you in the future. A birthday party or celebration perhaps :)
Go for the bar, not dinner. – First off the tables are very small, and the space is cramped. We ordered appetizers, a falafel platter. The portion size was tiny! Barely enough for one person to enjoy, let alone two. I ordered to Moussakka for my entree and my friend ordered the Lamb Filet. My Moussakka was good, but nothing special, My friend's lamb was overcooked, not the medium rare as he had requested. It is so dark inside the restaurant you can barely see your food. Now I like subtly lit restaurants but this was a bit extreme. All in all the meal was ok, nothing stellar and not really justifying the high pricetag. The service was a bit overwhelmed and forgetful, but pleasant nonetheless. I would suggest just heading to Gilberts for the bar and not the food
We have improved many things @ Gilbert's including a new menu(veeery reasonable prices), eliminated most of the small tables - expanded the bar area with window side pub tables.
If you haven't already, please visit us to see the changes. We are trying hard to please you better every day.

Not bad, but not stellar – They have divine hummos and the service is top-notch, but the hot items are salty (salmon and mussels) and the ambiance leaves you feeling a little cold and empty. I've gone on weekend nights three times and it's always never been more than half full.
Wonderful place for food and drink – Best place in Atlanta to meet folks and have a good time. Extremely gay-friendly atmosphere where Gilbert and Sean (brothers and owners) welcome everyone to their little pirce of heaven. I've never had a bad meal or a bad time. Always an excellent place to take business associates or friends for dinner and drinks.
effortlessly exquisite! – Place is full of friendly service as well as patrons. These people don't seem to be working, they are having enough fun, but the service is excellent to boot.
This is the kind of place to always meet interesting people from many walks of life as well as experiencing fabulous food.
If they don't remember you on your return, you sure won't know it. Everyone treats you like an old college buddy...
Chic neighborhood restaurant offers superb Mediterranean cuisine at moderate prices. – The Scene
This tiny Midtown cafe blends down-home warmth with a bohemian element native to the pedestrian-heavy corner of 10th and Piedmont. Inside, a sophisticated but raucously fun crowd drowns out the retro, international groove music.
This sleek contemporary bistro offers a mostly successful fusion of Mediterranean rim dishes. Borek (thin phyllo pastries) and a funky piyaz (a tangy bean salad) are solid variations on classic Istanbul dishes. The baba ghannouj is smoky with just the right amount of tahini. A deliciously tender chicken shish kebab, an entree, is heavily spiced, though not too much. Cilantro- and mango-encrusted trout on a bed of Indian basmati rice strikes a perfect balance between competing flavors. For dessert, baklava is filled with ground walnuts and soaked with honey, and would be perfect if it weren't paired with an out-of-place cherry syrup. Tiramisu is so light it practically floats off the plate.
Pleasant Experience @ Gilbert's Cafe – Me and my wife went to Gilbert's for the first time and pleased with our experience above our expectations. I had side salad-Turkish Shephard and Lamb Tenderloin and she had the small Greek salad and Trout. We also shared a Baklava which could actually feed 4 people. We enjoyed the food and service was attentive but not intrusive. After being regular @ mostly corporate restaurants It was pleasant to see that there are still places where owner floats in the dining room and makes sure guest are enjoying their time. We live far but we would at least visit before we catch a show at Fox.
well so good – very friendly service and always satisfactory as far as food and ambiance. not much to say! we don't want this place to be very crowded!
