Business delight. After a tough day on a client visit, 3 co workers and myself came here for dinner. It was quiet yet upbeat, and had something to offer everyone's palate. The sushi was fresh, light on the tongue, and stayed intact. Fish were grilled to perfection, and the tenderloin was like butter.
If you haven't tried it you're missing out!. My husband and I have eaten at Aqua blue at least a dozen times over the past 8 or 9 months, sometimes with our children and sometimes with family members or business associates. We have never been disappointed! The food is stupendous. The service is very efficient and even on busy nights we have rarely had to wait more than a few minutes to be seated. We have never taken anyone there that didn't love it. We strongly recommend this restaurant! Be sure to try to calamari!
Disgusted. Our reservation was for 7:45 pm; however, running late we called. They then moved our reservation back to 8 pm. At 8:15 pm we were still waiting. The first time I asked when we would be seated, I was waved off by an employee working in the front. Nodding his head arrogantly toward the bar he dismissively said, Go grab a drink. At 8:25, I approached this person one more time. Yet again, he told me to go have a drink at the bar. I told him I was not interested in doing that. He then rudely muttered something about my being late and that I had some nerve to be complaining. From there the conversation devolved into a heated, intense exchange whereby this person actually got in my face and invaded my personal space. Naturally, we left NEVER to return and will discourage anyone else from ever eating there.
"Corporate" Dinner. Working in Alpharetta there are many establishments that cater to large groups for company functions. I find that many are chains and lack any real character; I found this to be untrue of Aqua Blue. The staff had personality, the menu was, although what you'd expect, seasoned with a few nice surprises. The sushi, being a huge sushi fanatic, was delicious and fresh. They were able to provide excellent service to our group of about 20 (sometime picky - myself included) people. I am sure no one went without a drink or food for a minute. Excellent!
Contemporary flavors strike a blue note in Roswell's most happening dining room..
The Scene
Shimmering aqua light washes over this visually dramatic suburban restaurant. The main room, bordered by inviting, high-backed booths, centers on a large, well-stocked bar. In a fun, unexpected turn, a common table set with tiny tea candles also holds a Scrabble board. Furled gossamer curtains partially conceal a jewel box sushi bar. Service is structured but friendly.
The Food
Inspiration outpaces execution in a self-conscious global cuisine menu that takes on everything from noodles to sushi to "very big sandwiches." The Yummy Yummy roll, berry-red tuna with a bright wasabi punch, puts you in the mood for a big dinner. A rich Maryland-style crab cake is nicely complemented by a mellow fennel slaw. Potato herb gnocchi, which have been fried, have the texture of soggy doughnuts.
Nice sushi and atmosphere, but....
We were greeted very warmly by the host, but had super spotty service after that. The sushi was overall delicious, we enjoyed a rainbow roll, but the shrimp tempura roll was a bit soggy, probably due to it sitting around before the waitress got around to bringing it to us. My husband ordered the special risotto and could not finish it. It was greasy, clumpy and overly salted.
My recommendation, sit at the sushi bar and enjoy what they do best, thus avoiding slow service and bad entrees.
Always Amazed. We have been Frequenting Aqua Blue for 2 years now and love the friendly atmosphere where we are treated like family. Whether we are at the bar or in the dining room it is amazing how well all the staff know their food and wine. The calamari is to die for and the sushi is superb. You can go in and always be greeted by the same staff members who remember your favorites you enjoyed times before. It is a beautiful atmosphere to go and feel like you are at home.
Not Good. Food was horrible and overpriced, I had the Halibut and it smelled so bad I couldn't even eat it. Also Very Noisey and had to wait quite a while before being seated.
Great Place!. A big group (16) of us headed out to the 'burbs' when the NBA experience was in town- in order to avoid a long wait. What a nice surprise this place turned out to be! Cool vibe, great drinks, good food. Our waitress did not know the menu that well- but the wait staff as a team took great care of us. This place is a don't miss if you are in the neighborhhod.
Great Restaurant!!. This restaurant is great. The food was extremely good. If it's Friday, please order the New England Clam Bake. It's too delicious!!! Our waiter was pleasant and we really enjoyed ourselves.
