The Scene – Pleasant but somewhat bare, the restaurant's dining room has sunny walls, terra-cotta photomurals, an open kitchen, stonework and numerous water pipes on display. Roomy booths provide the best seating options. The hospitable owners double as servers and will gladly explain unfamiliar menu items, but are rather lackadaisical about refilling glasses and clearing plates. – – The Food – Start with the excellent, if somewhat pricey, combination platter of 10 hot and cold mezzas, which includes tabbouleh, hummus, spinach pie and falafel (Ask nicely and the…

Dishonest with bad service

by StewartAragon at Citysearch

Be careful of accepting any special anything here. I and my girlfriend went and were offered $2 wine, only to find that each glass was $10 on our bill. When we argued the bill, we were told that 2 glasses were required at $10 each. Nearly every waiter barely spoke English. The food is good, but this place lacks the most essential element of all.. honesty.. and the core staple of any restaurant.. service.

  • Pros: The food is authentic
  • Cons: Dishonest and terrible service.. The waiter will literally sit down to a meal while serving you..

Nice atmosphere, but food well below par

I am originally from Dearborn, Michigan and had my choice of excellent Arabic restaurants since Dearborn has the second highest population of Arabs in the US (Toledo Oh, has the highest). After relocating to Georgia I have been on a hunt for really good Middle Eastern cuisine. Byblos was definitely NOT it!! The restaurant decor was lovely and the service was excellent but the food was HORRIBLE and expensive!! My husband ordered the Lamb Kabob, and I ordered the Chicken Shawarma we also got an order of Hummous. His Lamb Kabob was just ok in flavor, but it was a small porion ( I think it was 5 or 6 small cubes) for the price ($17.95). My Chicken Shawarma was terrible, it was the consistency of tuna straight out of the can. It was somehow very wet and the meat was very dry at the same time (strange huh?). I took a few bites and couldn't bring myself to eat any more, it was that gross. Then there is the hummous. It was lumpy, gritty, very wet and not very flavorful, not at all what I am used to from back home. I prefer a hummous that is creamy, smooth (almost the consistency of peanut butter), and great flavor. Overall I was very dissappointed in the food, but as I said the service, atmosphere and decor were indeed excellent. So if you have never had Arabic food before, you may very well enjoy this experience. But I believe it is not for someone with Middle Eastern dining experience

  • Pros: The decor and service were excellent
  • Cons: Everything else

Deplorable Service, we must have gone on a bad night.

by Sunshine36616 at Citysearch

My husband and I love Lebanese food and were thrilled that there was one in the Atlanta area we had not tried. The restaurant is beautiful. We went on a Friday night and a large party had just left when we arrived. We waited to be greeted for over 5 minutes. Finally, someone came and got us a table. We were given menus and it wan't until 20 minutes when someone finally came and spoke to us about ordering.

The food came out quickly (we had the mezza). The food was very good. They have great hummus and outstanding stuffed grapevine leaves. After we were done, we waited about 30 minutes for our check and finally flagged someone down. We would have liked to have tried dessert, but who knows how long we would have been there for that.

I hear great things about their buffet, I'd consider going back for that. It's possible we caught them on an off night. We live inside the perimeter and with so many great options (Mezza, Lawrence's) I wouldn't be to eager to drive out to the Roswell area again for it. I'm always willing to give places a second chance.

  • Pros: Beautiful restaurant, good food
  • Cons: Terrible service
