Their Soul is Looking Worn Out!. Im never been a big fan of the circus. I have to say Universoul Circus did keep my attention however. The Master of ceremonies was energetic and kept the audience alive during set changes. He also did a very impressive Optimus Prime imitation, along with the transforming sound effect & semi truck horn, that made me give him a standing ovation. The tight wire performers had no net which kept me on the edge of my seat, covering my eyes & when I dared to look they were doing some crazier trick than the last! One actually lost his balance during his trick, started falling & grabbed the wire, hung there for a minute before using his beautiful upper body strength to get back up. I don't think it was staged!! During the show, I kept getting disturbed by a man that kept asking for my contact info so he could ask me out. TURNS OUT, he came out in a tumbling act. My friend & I could not stop laughing after that. Really!!??? You are part of a circus tumbling act, not my idea of "stable" employment!(pun intended) The best act of the afternoon were these beautiful girls from China that juggled drums & other objects, including each other on their FEET! It was executed without missing a beat. There was another act from China that did a Cirque du Soleil-ish kind of ariel performance, but it was lacking. I prefer wild animals left in the wild, so was not really feeling the elephant or tiger act. I will say that the animals looked very well maintained and healthy. The MC thanks us for keeping them in business for 17 years & the tents looked like they had been around longer! The tents were looking VERY worn & were actually dirty. The merchandise "store" was grungy & only the t-shirts looked new. I am a full package kind of act, so if you want to promote your circus, EVERYTHING should sparkle, not just the talent!
