“have been to some pretty bad restaurants in Atlanta but this one takes the cake!”
“The waiters were very attentive, the food was prepared perfectly and fresh, the wine list was so-so, but they had the wine we wanted, so the other selections were extraneous.”
“It is crowded every night because their food and atmosphere is so wonderful that people keep coming back!”
“The food is spectacular, and the wine list is an extensive collection of little-known but wonderful choices, mostly from Italy and California.”
“It's not for everybody, but if you like an eclectic mix of great food, quirky atmosphere, and charismatic waitstaff, then this is the place for you.”
“We have returned many times to a restauarnt that gave us good food and good service - needlessly to say we will not return here.”
“Our wine and water glasses were always full; they had multiple people serving us, definitely a 5 star class of service.”
“Had I not been with guests from out of town, I would have made a huge stink and argued about the bill.”
“People that know good food, know it can't be made in 5 minutes.”

Classic Italian with all of the crowd favorites from linguine to spaghetti and meatballs to osso bucco
Terrific Everything. Those who love Italian food and a great wine list will love this place! Old world flavorful food and service. We loved it. They dance, they sing it's a fun evening. Has a piano bar on weekends. Great back room for parties. My compliments to Giovanni, "Mayor" and Gale.
The worst among the worst. I have been to some pretty bad restaurants in Atlanta but this one takes the cake! I too experienced the wine switcheroo, where they were out of the wine special so they suggested an alternative. I figured it would be in the same price neighborhood, no no it was $40 more expensive! On top of that, my pasta was cold, I mean cold like it had been sitting out for hours. And the pasta was way overcooked, not "al dente". When I sent it back, instead of an apology, the manager came over and suggested that I didn't know how good pasta was cooked and that their chef was the best in Atlanta. The arrogance! After being ripped off $300 for a party of four for horrible food and even worse service, I chalk it up to an expensive learning experience.
No Better Place in Atlanta.
The food is spectacular, and the wine list is an extensive collection of little-known but wonderful choices, mostly from Italy and California. Afer enjoying the opening offering of reggiano parmesean served with olives, pesto, and warm italian bread, order the pasta fazolli. If you aren't convinced it's the best soup you've ever tasted, call me names, get up, and leave.
Your best bet is to entrust yourself to Giovanni, a born host, and arrive early when he isn't quite so busy. He'll let you know what was fresh at the market that day, and offer you preparation alternatives. It's impossible to go wrong. And let him pick the wine, too; chances are you'll spend the next couple of months trying to find it in a wine shop. This isn't an inexpensive place, but the feeling you'll have when you take the last sip of espresso before reluctantly leaving is priceless.
Great place for groups. My friends and I had our 'white elephant' Christmas party here and had a blast. Delicious pastas and meat dishes, yummy antipasto and a party-like atmosphere (they pump the music way up late-night on weekends and pass out party hats) make this a great place for fun and delicious meals with friends.
