“Since The Grape opened it has offered me a "cheers-friendly" atmosphere and great wine finds.”
“and if you're hungry, they serve light gourmet-ish fare and some very yummy desserts.”
“If you're looking for a Buckhead/Midtown meat-market kind of place (not that there's anything wrong with that), then The Grape is not for you, but if you're into wonderful wine and food in a laid-back and comfortable atmosphere, you'll love it.”
“It doesn't matter whether you're a novice or a wine connoisseur, The Grape is an outstanding, friendly venue to sit back, have some wine, a little bit of food, and enjoy the music on weekend nights.”
“staff and owners are very helpful with wine selections if you don't know what to order.”
“think I will stick to a real restaurant with great wine lists that have people that know what they are talking about, rather than a place with a chain cookie cutter approach.”
“The wine I chose was very good and I would definetely go back if for nothing else than to see that very tall, extremely good looking bartender whose name I didn't get.”
“great place to hang out with old friends, meet new people, try out different wines!”
“But these days, it has become rather boring, since it has become somewhat of an overpriced chain.”
Great for girl's night out!. My girlfriends and I love to go here for our rare "girl's only" nights out. Of course, we love to drink wine so it's the perfect spot. Plus, - it's located relatively close for everyone.
Best Wine Selection. I was very happy with this grape. They all seem to be different, but this one had the best selection of any I've been to.
best selection of wine. Wines of all kinds and menu allows you taste all kinds if you'd like , sophisticated atmosphere, and delicious appetizers! Great place to start a date or build your appetite!
We Love Vining's, But..............!. We love going over to Vining's, for a little village escape in the busy city. Many very good dining choices here. Many years ago, we used to love to drop by The Grape, for a glass of vino, after a meal. But these days, it has become rather boring, since it has become somewhat of an overpriced chain. Somehow chain wine bars, just don't get it, in Atlanta, with great choices like Ecco, Rathbun's and Vine. It seems rather dated for Vinings, and is not open on Sunday!
Crowded, outrageous wine prices. It's not a bad concept to let folks try wines and then buy the bottle in the shop next door. But OUCH, the wine prices (by the Bottle) are outrageous. I found the same Zolo wines at the bottle shop down the street for at least $4 less per bottle.
Overpriced Chain!. I have enjoyed visiting the various Grape locations around our great city, and am glad I made a trip to this location. I generally do not seek out chain restaurants for dining, and understand why I prefer not to seek out chain wine bars. There is really nothing special about any Grape location that isn't independently owned. This location had a nice staff, but the pours are small and expensive. The patrons were generally snobbish and unfriendly. This location is not open for lunch, or on Sundays. I would suggest visiting independently owned locations especially the one at Atlantic Station!
best date night and place to go out with group. Overpriced? I read other reviews and I think the grape is right on. Some wines are more expensive if you want to spend the money, but so many GREAT WINES are under $15 a bottle and they are really good! The place is cozy and full of good energy. They have a cool rating system so you can pick outthe wines you like even if you don't know alot about wine. It is brilliant! The staff is great and the steak sandwhich is to die for! A group of us went there on friday night and stayed there all night and had a great time. Good live music and lots of fun people watching. The vinings location is a great spot to spend a fun night out with excellent wine and great food. I am definitely going back!!!!
Love the Grape!. Went to the Grape for the first time and really liked it. The wine I chose was very good and I would definetely go back if for nothing else than to see that very tall, extremely good looking bartender whose name I didn't get....
Overpriced. Grape is so over priced it is not funny. They give a 5 ounce pour for a glass of wine that is priced more than a full bottle retail. They must attract unuducated beginners. Their servers lack knowledge about the wines offered and they use a childish color coded rating system to try and guide people. Give me a break. I think I will stick to a real restaurant with great wine lists that have people that know what they are talking about, rather than a place with a chain cookie cutter approach.
Excellent. I love their Saturday afternoon wine tastings. The waitstaff is always excellent and attentive. Their appetizer spreads are wonderful and come to life after a sip of wine. I hosted an afternoon birthday party here and the staff did a wonderful job of seamlessly setting up the wine tasting for a larger group and proactively separating the bills for the table. This is also a wonderful place to have a glass of wine before catching a show at the Vinings area movie theater. The location is perfect in the cobblestone Vinings Village away from traffic.
