I was very disappointed. In mid May of this year myself, a lady friend of mine was vistiing my male friend in GA and my man announced he was taking up to the Glady's Night restaurant, i was so excited.

Once we entered the restaurant we were immediately displeased because the employees that greeted up were what appeared to be teenagers and just standing arround and decided to seat us. once we gave our orders and were seated my lady friend was served and my meal came out in portions( not all at one time) and my male friend had to wait an additional 10minutes for his.

we asked the young waitress why this was and she said they didn't have a "runner" not sure what a runner does but ok. Than once our meal was all served the greens were over cooked all veggies were ! The salmon dry and over cooked and my male partner had the fried chicken and gravy and his was so overloaded with gravy he could not even taste the meat. (he was embarrassed because he bragged good things)

Needles to say no one ate their meal instead of complaining. Not to metions as we looked around at all the empty tables there was quite a bit of food remaing on others plates as much.

My friend paid for the meal (over 60.00)and we left. This was the talk of our whole trip since this was the very disappointing to us all. I would really like to try to eat at the restaurant again but not if the food is this bad again and only if it is the one downtown restaurant.

I had told my friend this but he indicated he would never go back and he llives in GA.(i felt bad for him since he still paid for it)

I do plan to visit GA again soon, but not sure if i will be going to the restaurant. I sure hope that this is truely not how the food taste and i hope the service is not always this poor. I personally feel this is a embarrassment to a legend with a good reputation.

I love Gladys Night and her music but this was a big disappointment to all of us.

Sincerely,

My Father In-Law Called From Tampa, Florida. My father in- law " Robert Alexander", called me from Tampa, Florida and asked me had I ever eaten at Gladys Knight and Ron Winans Chicken and Waffles? I have lived in Atlanta since April 1993 and I had never Heard of this Restaurant. Trust me when I say, I cried when l entered into the doors of the Restaurant and beheld "The Hand of God at Work in a body of people that was considered "The least of these thy brother". I Pray that Mr. Shanga Hankerson don't allow the Blind at Heart to cast a dark cloud over his Silver Lining. Jealousy is cruel! O' But the Glory of God Blessing Gladys Knight to birth a dreamer, "Mr. Shanga Hankerson", The Joseph of our day! Thanks to my father in-law Mr. Robert Alexander of Tampa, Florida I now have a Place to eat eat eat and Enjoy Every Bite of the Hand of God working through a dreamer, "Mr. Shanga Hankerson". Peace to the Entire Staff!

Worst first impression ever. Well I'm from indiana and my girl was talking about gladys knight resturant, so I decide let's try it. The waiter who serve us forgot every thing, we made it easy on him by ordering same meal with different sides. I got my order but my girl waited over an hour this was the pits, maybe it just wasn't meant to be, I proably want come back tho, popeyeys here I come.

Hope this does not happen to you. I have never been there but I am sure they must have good food because someone stole my credit card and ate $54.02 worth of food there.

Long on wait...short on service. I went to this restaurant on March 21. I was really excited because I had some out of town guests. The downside is that I had my 2 year old daughter. Prior ro arriving, I asked whether children were welcomed and how long the wait was. They said yes and 45 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes later. I was quoted a wait time of 1:15. Almost 2 hours later we were seated. They had to divide out large party into two different tables. But let me add that although there were probably 6 more parties standing outside, waiting to be seated, there were at least 3 tables that were only partially cleared and no employee seemed to be in any hurry to clear them.

Fast forward....we were seated at two separate tables. The restaurant has a policy of mandatory 18% gratuity in parties of 5 or more. We argued that this policy shouldnt apply to us because there were only four of us at each table. The mgmt disagreed. I informed the mgr that it would probably please his customers if he would quickly resolve our dispute so I could take my now screaming child out of the restaurant and stop disturbing his other patrons with her crying. He said that the screaming child was no problem and that he wasnt worried about the other customers.

I told him that he should be worried about the other customers, people dont pay good money to eat with a screaming child. I eneded up just leaving my friends to resolve the dispute.

The dispute was this... why must we pay a 18% gratutity for 10% gratuity service. The food (greens and mac and cheese was cold) we sent it back and he returned eventually but it was still cold. My chicken and waffles were pipping hot but the wings werent well seasoned. Also...what chickens did those HUGE wings come from? Those things were gigantic.

My daughter never received the refill on her lemonade.

Honestly, I was going to leave a 20% tip, just because I have a good job and I like to spread the wealth...but why should we be forced to leave 18% for subpar food and service?

Even mgmt let the idea of good customer sercice evade them.

I seriously can not in good conscience recommend this restaurant.

Don't let outside FOOL you. I planned my family's recent vacation to Atlanta based on seeing this restaurant on Travel Channel. My husband was little dismayed when we got there by the outside appearance. But after waiting @ 45 minutes (glad it wasn't raining) the food was worth it. I had to get a take-out because I couldn't finish everything. Our waiter wasn't the best, had to ask him twice for a refill. Other than that next time I'm in the city I definitely plan on eating here.

Homeless response. If you had good service at a restaraunt and someone else didn't and good service is normal, then why would you not go back anymore? You'r decision to no longer patronize the place is not going to shut it down. As much as we want perfect customer service for ourselves and others, it doesn't always work out that way. It's an opportunity for you to deal with your attitude also. Also, could there have been history with the homeless man you know nothing about? The server said he was not supposed to be in the restaurant. Did she say why?

I've been there and will go again. Actually, I'm going this weekend.

Great Experience. My wife and I had lunch at Gladys Knights' location in Johns Creek. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles and my wife had the waffle and eggs, we were both happy with our choices. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Homeless not served here, even if the rich are paying!!. Well this is my second and last visit to this retaurant. Yes, I am very aware that homelessness is a issue in this city, but when I witnessed what happened on 2-3-09 at 10:45pm, I was astounded. The food and service was ok as usual, nothing spectacular but was revisiting with coworkers and some had never eaten there before. So the meal is over and we go to pay for our food at the register and Faizon Love, comedian, is there and had given a homeless man $20 to get something to eat. Well when Mr. Love leaves, the waitress which was ours also, tells the homeless man that the kitchen is closed and he can't get hot wings he will have to take something else. He said that is fine, ordered regular wings and asked for his change. She told him your not getting any change and told him you know that your not supposed to be in here anyway. (like he was not a human, and a paying one at that) So then she got ugly and started showing out on him and called the manager and this man was so polite, never cussed her out or anything and all I could do was open my mouth and tell her she should be ashamed of herself. I asked her why wouldn't you give him the change and she said he is not even supposed to be in here. I just wandered if when Fazion Love gave her the money for him and brought him in, did she tell him that they didnt serve the homeless and we cant take your money? Anyone can be a paycheck away from being on the streets and since she works on tips, she needs to get her self in check. The manager did come and say it must be a misunderstanding but it was ridiculous. Will not ever visit or give my money to this establishment and don't recommend anyone else to.
