Parking is FREE in the back.. Due to the hype I always have to wait when there any events in the city. I had one bad visit when the server was bringing everyone who came after me food and they were eatting and leaving, time just rolling by and I'm like look I have two kids and myself who been patiently waiting for over mins and everyone else was done. Whats the problem. Some employees are rude, I guess they feel like they are celebrities.. Ha whatever, do what your paid to do or lack a tip.
Wonderful Atmosphere and Menu Choices. Looking for reasonable priced soul food... this is the place. I enjoyed the smothered chicken with fried corn and collard greens. Service and food arrived within minutes...good but unfortunately my food was lukewarm and since I was seated under a fan, my food became cold fast. Fried Green Tomatoes was great and came out HOT! Determined to give it a fair chance, I took the Midnight Train (4 chx wings and a waffle) home. Was great reheated :)
Ghetto!. This place is a DUMP! Costs $7 to park for mediocre and the staff was odd. Paid to park, doors open and lot full to find out they weren't open. While travelling through Atlanta it was important for one of us to experience it and I was on the fence. After the "awh" response and a walk to the door neither of us want to return. All the reviews say the food is without flavor so I consider that the hostess did us a favor.
I wish I could review this place.
I have tried for the last two weekends to go and eat here, but it's never actually open during the posted hours.
I'm over it
Great service. I am a picky eater and I am not that easy to please when it comes to food. Well, this restaurant did offer some good food, but I was not delighted nor impressed. The chicken was a bit dry. The service though was fantastic and the service crew was courteous in answering all of my questions pertaining to the food preparation.
Not Atlantas best!. I came here hoping to get some of Atlantas best fried chicken and was very dissapointed. First, the chicken arrived after ordering it in only 3 minutes. The restaurant was not horribly busy but it was the first clue it was not cooked to order. The chicken was rubbery and the crust was not crispy at all. I inquired if it was held under a lamp and was told no, on a steam table! The waiter brought another order that was supposed to be fresher but was no different. Also the restaurant does not carry vinegar for the greens or butter for the corn bread rolls. I was very surprised here as well billing itself as a traditional southern soul food restaurant. I htink the success of this place is based solely on the namesake.
Good Atmosphere and Fabulous Food!!. I was visitng a friend who lives in Atlanta and she has heard of this place. We decided to try it out. It was beyond anything I have ever eaten!! This food was so good that my mouth is watering now just thinking about it. We ate there for my 33rd birthday!! Wow what a suprise! The food was AWESOME!! Our watier was just as good. He was very attentive and comical! This was the best meal I have ever eaten. I will return to Atlanta only to take my family to this food estabilishment that should be called love....
Fried Chicken!!. I'm from San Francisco, and came to town wanting some good southern fried chicken. A friend of mine took me here last night and I can't stop thinking about it. Best fried chicken I have ever had ( and I've eaten a LOT of fried chicken in my life). greasy goodness.
