CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!! – I threw a 30th bday surprise party for my husband at Lenny's this past Wednesday. I went there because of the Wednesday Special - FREE COVER, FREE POOL, and FREE KAROAKE!! Little did I know how much fun we were in for...!!! The staff rocked!! They helped decorate, made sure to bring in my husband's favorite songs, and my friends were floored. EVERYone stayed until the wee hours because they just didn't want to leave the BEST dive bar in Atlanta. It's a little like Clairmont Lounge and Backstreets rolled into one. We had so much fun. The staff in itself is a guaranteed good time!
Can't wait to go back!
The words "dingy" and "dive" are taken as compliments here at this old school music venue. – The Scene
This is not a lounge or pub. This is a good old-fashioned bar that meets all the requirements: rough-looking clientele, friendly bartenders and comforting drinks. Lenny's straddles both sides of the tracks. Its low-slung doublewide exudes a grungy down-home feel, but the bar attracts the occasional college kid or white-collar worker. A small stage, which sometimes serves as a dance floor, takes up one half; the bar and pool tables fill the other. A patio, with its occasional bar, provides an equally sketchy outdoor alternative.
Lenny's is one of a dying breed of dives where you can wind down without pretense. When Lenny's changed from Dottie's, its fans took a deep breath and hoped nothing would change. It hasn't. During the day, the regulars still preside. Nights continue to draw divergent crowds with house Monday, hip-hop Tuesday, karaoke Wednesday and various overdriven live music Thursday through Saturday.
good place to see a band – I personally wouldnt call this a "dive bar". Sure it looks pretty bad on the outside but everytime i've been there its pretty much the same type of crowd...kinda like what you might find at The Local except with live music. This isnt a bad thing, but definitely not a dive bar crowd. Personally, though, I wouldnt want to be walking around this area after dark but maybe thats just me. Anyway, theres a small area to watch live bands play, a couple of pool tables, 5 or 6 different beers on draft. It seems to start getting pretty busy at about 12am, but in my experience the bands seem to go on early...like around 9 pm. I would definitely recommend going here, especially since they are moving to a new location soon.
Killer Vibes – Not many places in Atlanta can bring together an eclectic crowd that moves to the beat of killer music. Lennys does just that. Tuesday nights are a great night to check out the beats and vibes of some of the great dj's in Atlanta. Always a friendly crowd and a pool game can be found. New to Atlanta and this is just what I was looking for.
Zen Circus Rockin' . . . – Having lived in the Atlanta area nearly 5 years, I never did get out much, but Lenny's was one of the first times I have been blown away by the music found in Atlanta! They had a very loud band playing for awhile, then a band called Zen Circus went on and sent you to another world in music. Lenny's has the best music you've never heard, but will never forget . . . they rock! Large bar section for mingling and pool and very nice sitting area for shows.
