“It's a nice comfortable neighborhood restaurant.”
“stayed with cocktails, but have heard the place has good wine too.”
“My favorite dish is the halibut, but everything else I've ever gotten has been equally scrumptious.”
“They have this great menu where you can pick three selections from a long list of items, so you can get a different combination every time and they're all fantastic.”
“We like having a relaxed, great restaurant to show off to our friends from New York, Chicago and California.”
“The server was rude and unattentive, unless he had spilt something on me it couldnt have been worse.”
“The wine selection is massive, with wines from all over Italy and from all over the world, and the prices are very reasonable.”

Exceeded our expectations in every respect.
We arrived early, around 6:30 on Friday. The place was busy but not packed, and we got a table without any waiting. The waiter was very friendly and funny and prompt with our first round of drinks.
My only gripe is that another table was seated next to us with a very loud baby. I could not understand why anyone would bring a baby, since it's not exactly a kids kind of place. Fortunately, the server asked us if we'd prefer a quieter table without or even having to ask. How attentive!
I ordered the scallops over polenta with mushrooms and onions and it was excellent. The scallops were cooked perfectly, neither glassy nor rubbery. And the polenta was some kind of coarse ground deal that was a nice complement. It also had some mushrooms and onions to complete the dish. One of the other people in our party had a pasta with seafood in a tomato broth that looked fantastic.
I stayed with cocktails, but have heard the place has good wine too. The wine list certainly looked pretty expansive. I've been telling all of my friends about this place and highly recommend it.
Excellent Italian Place. I went there for my work Christmas party and had a BLAST! The food was AWESOME and our server suggested some wines to go with our food that were PERFECT. We even got our own private room for the party!
Love this restaraunt. With the economy the way it is, we don't get out as much as we used to, But when we do dine out, this is where we go. We've celebrated our last 4 anniversaries here. The food and service are top-notch and make us feel at home, but without the need to cook or do dishes. :-)
Awesome Wine List. I'm certainly no expert on wines, but over the last few years I've started to develop an appreciation for all the things that can be done with grapes. I find I really enjoy trying new types of grapes or trying wines from different parts of the world. This restaurant is the perfect place for an inquisitive palate. The wine selection is massive, with wines from all over Italy and from all over the world, and the prices are very reasonable. I try to sample at least one new wine every time I dine there, and I urge any other blossoming oenophiles to do the same!
Always a great time. My husband and I used to dine at Portofino all the time until we moved away from Atlanta a couple years ago. Recently, we were back in the city and decided to go back. The best thing about this restaurant is that even though the menu had changed completely, the food was just as good as we'd remembered. It is rare, even for the best restaurants, to be so consistently enjoyable, and yet we have never had a bad meal there.
Cozy Atmosphere.
My wife and I have been dining here for years and have always enjoyed the the experience, we even held my father's 70th birthday party for about thirty people at Portofino. They even let us set up a special menu in advance!
-Very Accommodating of Large Parties
-Excellent Food and Wine
-Cozy Indoor Dining and a Beautiful Patio
Friendly Bartender, Great Food!. Took a couple of colleagues out for a business dinner. The bartender recommended a Zinfandel with a spanish name that was awesome. The pork chop was perfectly tender, and my coworkers enjoyed their veal and fish as well. The pricing was very reasonable: $120 for starters, dinner, and wine for the 3 of us. This is a great setting for a relaxed business dinner.
Great local restaraunt. We were visiting Atlanta and staying at the St Regis, when we stumbled across Portofino within walking distance of our hotel. Our server seemed very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine list and helped us pick the perfect wines to go with our dinners, which were delicious. We will definitely be back next time we're in town!!
Bad food and service.
My husband and I had dinner here over the weekend. Not good.
Our food tasted "old" and the service was slow. The place was not busy (now we see why) yet it took about 15 for a few glasses of wine. We won't be back. We will stick to the real restaurants.
Awful Crap.
We had friends in from new york over the weekend. It was THE WORST DINNER WE EVER FORCED INTO OUR MOUTHS.
