The Scene
Located in an industrial patch of Edgewood Avenue between Inman Park and downtown, this friendly modern diner mixes urban hipness with fast-moving, no-nonsense coffee shop charm. Inside, you'll find Formica tabletops, red vinyl booths and local photographs. An unusual hybrid crowd drawn mainly from nearby lofts lines up patiently on weekends; workday mornings are for first-name-basis regulars and chummy cops.
The Food
This urban diner offers a funky mix of updated breakfast dishes and reliable sandwiches, burgers and quesadillas. It's best known for breakfast, though, and hefty whole-wheat biscuits and challah French toast (served with real maple syrup) are specialties, as are one-skillet concoctions of potatoes, eggs and cheese. Excellent scrambled tofu, Belgian waffles and build-your-own omelettes are also worth a try. Coffee comes in big cups, generally with a smile.

Everytime I come to Atlanta I go to the Thumbs Up...was introduced to it by a local a couple of year's ago...and I'm never disappointed. Yes, as others say, you will wait for a table on the weekends if you arrive after 10am, but the food is well worth the wait. The biscuits are fluffy and wholesome-wheat biscuits, mind you, and the other selections on the menu are awesome. The catfish is amazing, as is the steak and egg combo...the french toast is HUGE and satisfying...and there are many offerings for the veggie's in any group. I like to go during the week, when the crowds are smaller, and sit at the counter to chat with the locals. The coffee will keep you wired for the day. Only two complaints...the parking is dodgy...and there are too many good things on the menu to make an easy decision.

The location on Marrietta Street. The front house manager has a really bad attitude. You will not be satisfied with the service there. the food is alright but the service is horrible. When you place a phone in call she put you on hold for about 15 mins and when you get there she tell you that she forgot. When you go there and sit down her amount of food serving that you recieves changing from time to time and she tell you to just deal with it. She is very ugly to the public and even rude to her staff.
