“Too bad because it was a great place for dancing in Atlanta.”
“The venue is incredible with it's huge dance floor, beautiful VIP booths, and a exteremly personable staff!”
“very nice place if you want to feel like you are in LA... too expensive for me.”
“The Opera employees were EXTREMELY rude, and kept on saying that we had 10 minutes to pay or else we would all be thrown in jail.”
I always have a good time at Opera. I frequent Opera quite often, usually for special events and DJ's that my girlfriend, my friends, and myself like. We usually buy a table unless we want to be on the floor for something like Armin. I see all these complaints on here, but to be honest there is a lot of drunk shenanigan's that go on all the time at this place. So I understand why the bouncers have a Zero tolerance policy. Ive smoked countless joints/bowls in this place and have never been harassed, the only time I see people get bounced is when people do dumb ass shit, so to everyone that is complaining you guys were probably tanked. Going VIP has its perks I never wait in line ever, and if you establish a relationship with a hostess you can get in whenever and no lines. I love watching people get stopped from entering to let my friend's and myself in that shit is funny it makes people rage. Also if you get a table if anyone slightly bothers you, you can have there ass bounced, cheers to gizeppo and his creepy cousin that tried to mack on my girl last friday I bet the bouncers treated you guys good.
Bouncers Need To Stop. Im just gonna make this brief. My brothers bestfriend was mistreated to where he was put in Grady Hospital for 12 hours. After that sent to jail for Disorderly Conduct which was wrong. If anyone has had bad experiences where you had been hurt or anything even if it was your friend please write what happened this needs to be put to a stop.
Extremely Rude Bouchers. The club atmosphere is awesome but the people that work there make it so not worth going in. The bouncers need to seriously relax. They are ready to fight at any given moment. Not going to get into details, but fire the bouncers, and I'll return.
I'm getting too old for this S***.
I have gone to this club once every time they change the name. I've seen it as a regular club, a drum n bass party and last night which was college night.
My roommate who took me there told me it was a great place. But the vibe was all messed up. First it was $20 to get in on a Wednesday. 18 and up...so I understand the price hike. But wednesday? come on.
But what I didn't like the most of was the aggressive manner in which the security handled people. First I couldn't tell security from a normal guy. Dressing in black in a suit jacket....what the heck is that!!! So when the security stopped people from doing things, the people were genuinely SURPRISED. They thought it was a normal dude.
Then they were aggressive in how they talked or acted. You could tell that the crowd was a bunch of college kids trying to have fun. But the security was cursing and being really hands on like angry cops. I saw one dude get ejected for dancing on the pole. They picked him up and rushed him out the door like he just punched someone.
THEN they brought out these rappers and started a concert like they were making a video. It was HORRIBLE. I won't be going back soon.
be prepared to be dooped. Every person there tells you different things about what you're paying for vs what your getting. Then they send you on a wild goose chase so you never get refunded for what they "assured" you you were getting. My group of friends got took for more than $200 and we weren't the only ones in the club complaining. If you want to sit down/lean ANYWHERE the actual cost in between $300-3000. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!
I got tricked, and apparently I’m not the first…..
I had a very unfortunate incident at Opera about two weeks ago. I came in here to post my experience and I read some of the older comments. The same exact thing happened to another customer in May. This is absolutely ridiculous.
I got a table at Opera with 3 friends. Promoter at the door promised me one price, but when I received the tab the price was 3 times higher. I asked to talk to the promoter, but they said that he had taken off one hour before. They said that they were going to call the cops, but we called the cops first. The 2 officers showed up and said that we had to pay to avoid going to jail for “defrauding an innkeeper”. I couldn’t believe it! Thankfully we had the money to pay, and we are going to contest this charge. But what if they had come with a tab for $5,000???? We would’ve had to pay to avoid prison????? I wonder how many people have already been tricked like this…
dr nightlife in the vip. dr nightlife danceing in the vip with some of the most beautifull women in the atl, the patio was cranking out the boom boom pow ,dr night and his vip guest list smokeing up the house, was that shakira he was danceing with?
Great place... poor music, hospitality, drink selection. Went on July 16th...place was packed but the DJ couldn't get the party jumping. They advertised free drinks until 11pm, stopped serving drinks a quarter to 11pm. No rum other than Captain Morgan, no Patron, no Midori...none of my friends got the other drinks they asked for. It was hot and muggy. Even Monica tried to liven things up, but the DJ was simply GARBAGE! Nice place, glad it was free, won't be going back though.
Best dance club. Opera is the best nightclub i have ever been to! Great people, great staff, great music, and great drinks! There was a fight nearby when everyone was leaving and one of the security guards made sure that me and my friends were ok after we had been shoved down by the guys that were fighting. I thought that was a nice gesture.
