Authentic Italian snacks for hip urbanites.. Eye candy, eye candy, eye candy
Twin brick beehive ovens split a punched plastic canopy: a blast of heat grabs at you from banked, glowing coals. To the right--the hippest, sexiest bar in the western hemisphere. And all around you a soaring harmony of textures and colors: Richly-fabricked tapestries warm a cinderblock wall; vast amphoras stand by, solemn as guards; a massively rusty factory door beckons "fire escape;" cross-hatched wire cuts patterns in the air. P.S.: red and black are back.

The Food
Simple, tony, authentic--the jet-in-for-snacks kind of place. Crispy, perfectly tender calimari alight on a square of brown paper. Crunchy-soft potato croquettes promote the pungent sweetness of gorgonzola. Pizzas hint at oversized hors d'hoeuvres--cut small pieces, trade them 'round. Velvety-salty prosciutto, fennel-ly sausage, tangily pungent Robiola goat's cheese--across the board flavors are no-miss wonderful. Eat as much or as little; it's perfect pre- or post
