“Never seen it since living in L.A. Why open a location in family friendly Decatur if you plan on being jerks to everyone?”
“But it is a great place for two or three people to enjoy wonderful guacamole, drink margaritas and eat great food sitting outside on a beautiful Atlanta day.”
“As I result, I was able to spend my birthday night with both amazing food and great friends.”
“The whole menu is fantastic.”
“Service is good and the place is sparkling clean.”
“After a moment another friend went to apologize to him for the innocent misunderstanding and received the same rude treatment in return.”
“Rude service.”
“still like the inexpensive food (especially the Memphis soft taco) but after 3 tries, I'm knocking it off our restaurant list.”
“Good food - not a long wait”
Local restaurant with fresh ingredients, awesome guacamole and cheap prices. Win in my book.

The seasonal chile rellenos are masterfully fried with a delicious red sauce and melted cheese in every bite.
Awesome food of those restaurant....!!!!And also provide great services....
I am a pretty good sucker for good tacos. They have a diverse menu and although the wait can stink I try and go at times that it's not so crowded. I really like variety so they way this place works really floats my boat.
Barely open. I'm only leaving a 3 star review b/c I'm mad they aren't open more often :-(. Seriously the best tacos in Atlanta but they are closed during day, closed on Sundays.....it's a mess. I guess when you got food that great, you can afford to be open one day per week. LOL
Athens Location is Great.
I read some bad reviews about Taqueria Del Sol in Atlanta, but the Athens location is great.
It is located in the same spot that a service station used to be, so it retains that charm but it is fixed up very well. The service is always very fast and the people that work there always take care of your baskets and cups (making it seem almost half-fast food/ half restaurant.)
I personally love the carnita (slow-cooked pork), the barbecued pork, or the chicken tacos. The carnitas keep me coming back. My fiance loves their fish tacos (deep fried tilapia with pablano tartar sauce and pickled jalapenos.)
The enchiladas are also very good. You can choose between cheese, bean, brisket or chicken with a red bean chili, a pork green chili, or a lemon cream sauce (better than it sounds.)
I totally recommend this restaurant in Athens. It's affordable, delicious and the servers are very helpful and friendly.
Good Food except-- old discolored " fresh salsa".... We had two versions of the same salsa. One of the salsas were brown, bland, and tasted like it had been refrigerated uncovered for a week. The other salsa (which the staff claims is the exact same salsa) was bright red and tasted great.. Hmmm the salsa is hit or miss here. The food was decent. I wouldn't write home about it. The only reason I am even posting is because of the nasty salsa discrepancy.
Poor service? Are you kidding?.
I'm not sure what expectations you could possibly have about "service" at TDS. You wait in line, you order your food, and the wait staff brings it. That's it!
This is not a full service restaurant where you flag down waiters to refill your drinks or bring out desserts. If you want more water or tea, you get it yourself, people.
As for "attitude", there may be a tiny touch of that, but put yourself in the position of these waiters. The place is always full, no one leaves tips, and it's thankless work.
As for the food? I have been going to TDS since the late 80s before it was even TDS. It is the best lunch place in town, bar none.
Great food, poor service. The Tacos here are really good along with the rest of the menu. It is always packed and has all kinds of people coming in there, but the one thing that makes it only get 3 stars is the service. They are not friendly, they kind of give you dirty looks from time to time if they don't like what you said or you made your order to complicated. Our waiter dissappeared on us, and we sat with empty drink cups for like 15 minutes before I flagged someone down and asked them if they could get us some drinks. They said they would find my waiter and he still took another 5 minutes before he came. Its a shame that such good food goes to waste with such poor service.
Good food - not at all family friendly!. We've always enjoyed their tacos - despite their long lines. However, they are not in any fashion or form family friendly! They do give you dirty looks when you bring in a lil' one...
