Overview – Important places associated with Martin Luther King Jr. and the American civil-rights movement line this half-mile stretch of Auburn Avenue. King's birth home and grave site, Ebenezer Baptist Church (where he worshipped and preached) and Fire Station No. 6 Museum are the main historical attractions, but don't miss the visitor center. It offers chilling exhibits, video displays and film presentations. Particularly poignant are eight life-sized statues of men and women, black and white, in a simulated Freedom March of the 1960s. Well Educated

by ilovemywife

After 25 years of MLK days you would think, "My goodness what else is there to know". I was still blown away by the movie that was shown and the Facility was well kept. I liked the fact that you could go over to the church and also outside to take pictures with the statue. I got a really good feeling being ther. My wife and I will go back, with my niece and nephew.

  • Pros: Very informative and a plethora of information

Great Experience

by vachick

I visited the MLK Center, Ebenezer Church, and Martin Luther Jr. Home. It was an experience will never be forgotten. It gave me a sense of pride and worth. I recommend this center to anyone with curiosity and passion for a foundation and history. The only thing that was an inconvenience to me was the distance and parking. It is a nice place to be once inside, but you have to walk between center, church, and home with others on a busy street with children. This was a hassle. Other than that the experience was one that will last.

  • Pros: good cultural place
  • Cons: parking and distance
