Editorial Review for Chastain Memorial Park – by Jake Sussman

The View
The 158-acre park is tucked into one of Buckhead's lushest residential areas. The reasonably priced 18-hole North Fulton Golf Course and one of the city's best jogging paths are the highlights. The paved path follows the park's perimeter, offering good views of the golf course and the latest jog-with-your-baby gear. A mix of hills and curves, along with several foot bridges and wooded spots, makes it the city's best short jog at roughly three miles.

The Appeal
The nine tennis courts fill up quickly on the weekends. There's also a swimming pool, basketball court, baseball fields and several picnic areas. The Chastain Art Gallery, located on the park grounds, regularly puts on cutting-edge shows and is free. If you like to make your own art, check out the Chastain Arts Center's year-round programs.

User Reviews for Chastain Memorial Park

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Best place for a great concert outdoors! Candlelight, warm breezes, good acoustics, ability to bring in your own food and drink at a reasonable price. More intimate than HiFi Buys/Laekwood Amphitheater and much less restrictions. Only negative - attendees should be made to turn cell phones OFF and no dancing in the seats. Ushers do a great job in controlling crowd when needed.

Pros: location, atmosphere, price

Cons: smoking near bathroom, parking, yuppy audiences
