More low-key than Piedmont Park, Grant Park offers plenty of weekday serenity; weekend crowds impinge on personal space. Gazebos and open pavilions provide respite from exercise and a great place to barbecue. Zoo Atlanta and the adjacent Cyclorama occupy the southern half of the park. – – The Draw – Sports options include basketball, baseball, soccer and tennis. Besides the fact that the zoo and the cyclorama are located in Grant Par, the park has a lot to offer. It has lots of beautiful trees and grassy hills. Hawks and other birds are occasionally seen in the park. There are swing sets and a playground for kids. There are trails to walk, bike, roller blade and walk your dog.
