I brought my son in for his 2-year-old checkup. He does not enjoy going to the doctor, so he was screaming and acting cranky. Dr. Kangos came in to do the examination and commented on his screaming. He asked a lot of questions, but was jumping from topic to topic a lot. He never, during the whole appointment, asked if I had any questions. He then told me that he thought my son needed to see a specialist because he seemed to be very developmentally delayed and needed to have his brain examined. He left to get some referrals, and he brought back in a symptom checklist for autism. He was surprised to see that my son (now that he had calmed down) was playing with some toys on the floor and told me that this was very normal behavior. He then asked me about the symptoms on the checklist and it was obvious that my son is perfectly normal. He then told me that he didn't think we needed to see the specialist anymore and left. I think that it is great that he is looking for signs of autism, but it really bothered me that he told me that he needed to see a specialist first and then went over the checklist with me. It was very upsetting to me to think that there was something seriously wrong with my son, and then to find out that this was mistakenly assumed because my son was acting up at first. I don't think it is uncommon for kids to be uncomfortable at the doctor's office! We will not be coming back.

I've been taking my children to Dr. Kangos and his wife since my nine year old daughter was born. I now have a 3 years old as well. I've had nothing but great experiences with the staff and Dr's at Kangos Pediatrics. It is so nice to walk in and be called by our first names by the staff. I've heard others talk about going to large clinics and after hours where you don't know who will see your children. I really enjoy the one on one attention and the days and hours they are open as well. When both parents are working, it really helps to have a Saturday option for well or sick checks when needed. I really appreciate everything they have done for my children and wouldn't go anywhere else!! I highly recommend them!!!
