Located in Midtown West, this relative newcomer is quickly becoming known as a hot spot. The space itself is sleek, urban, and colorful, and the food is just as interesting. Start with the tamarind jalapeno wings which are spicy, sweet, and somehow manage to be both crispy and gooey at once. Don't miss the grilled tilapia torta -- the bread alone is worth trying this one. Is that a disco ball hanging above my table, or are you just happy to see me? Well, both. And that disco ball isn't just for looks, my friends. Stick around after dinner and watch La Vida get loco way into the late night.
Located in the Old Fourth Ward, P'cheen provides a sleek setting, delicious food, and a super cool bar scene. The food is fantastic and served til 1 AM on the weekends. And after dinner, sashay over to the bar side and get friendly with the DJ. You're sure to find it's quite easy to spend hours here.
With a slogan like ?Sit Down And Listen,? and the giant green DJ booth that's front and center, it's fair to say you've been warned. Nestled in the always-interesting Old Fourth Ward, The Sound Table is part bar, part restaurant, and all cool. After dinner upstairs in the main dining room, plop down at the swankily modern bar downstairs, bob your head to the DJ, and enjoy one of the many Great Gatsby-esque cocktails such as the Moscow Mule, the Sazerac, or the Pink City Rickey.
Loca Luna provides the tools necessary for a fun night out ? those tools being margaritas, tapas, and sexy Latin music. It's easy to eat, drink, and dance the entire night away with its carnival of hedonistic pleasures...delectable bites, great drinks, and a few salsa steps around the dance floor.
With such a popular bar scene, you might forget that Atkins Park is also a restaurant. Remind yourself soon, and stop by the restaurant side of this beloved tavern. Try the bacon burger with house-smoked bacon, or the house-made bratwurst with kraut and mustard on a pretzel bun. Maybe the shrimp and grits or the Berkshire pork chop is more your game. Regardless, step over to the bar side after dinner, load up the juke box with your favorite songs, and while away the night with Virginia Highland's best.
Hidden away in the hip Westside, Ormsby's easily encourages lingering a while and getting playful. With it's gourmet spin on snack food, the menu is just as fun as the concept itself. After dinner, grab a drink and settle in for a game of backgammon, bocce, darts, pool, or shuffleboard.
