It seems to me that something like 90% of the people who live in Atlanta (and who are from Georgia) seem to be from Marietta or Alpharetta. My parents live in Marietta, I work in Marietta, and frankly, I'm tired of the bad rap that it gets when it comes to food. THERE'S MORE THAN JUST CHILI'S AND APPLEBEES, I PROMISE! So, as my Valentine's Day present to you, Atlanta, I give you my Top 5 places to go eat dinner in Marietta. Because you can be forced to leave the perimeter, but you shouldn't be forced to eat at Golden Corral.

Though it technically is a chain (they have one in Alpharetta I think), it doesn't really feel like one. Great pizzas, pastas (the baked dishes have perfectly melted cheese), and some really serious garlic knots.
Ever been to Papi's on Ponce? This place is its twin sister. Phenomenal steak sandwiches, AMAZING ropa vieja, and fried yucca that makes you wonder why we eat so many potatoes when yucca might actually be superior. Get a side of "papi's sauce." It's essentially a garlic mayo that makes everything taste even better.
Ok, you busted me, this is actually in downtown Acworth. Don't snub it yet though, because you will LOVE their pasta. I had some sort of pasta with mussels when I was there last and it blew me away. Worth the drive to Acworth. Really great staff too. We had fantastic service.
