Havana Sandwich Shop

3979 Buford Highway, Atlanta, GA 30329

After losing the original location in a fire, Debbie and crew reopened just up the street in 2009. Thank goodness too, because between losing Havana and Kool Korners within a year, it had become "hard pressed" (haha, get it) to find a really good Cuban sandwich in Atlanta. Havana's original cuban, the #1, is the best sandwich in the city for my money. For a little extra flavor, drench it in mojo sauce. Note: As of the time of writing CitySearch still has the old address posted. The new one is 3979 Buford Hwy - on the northeast side of the Clairmont intersection.

Baldinos Giant Jersey Subs

5697 Buford Hwy NE, Doraville, GA 30340

If you're looking for a serious sub, my recommendation is either the American Army or the Italian Batallion at Baldino's. The meat and cheese is sliced to order and the bread is as fresh as you can get. Don't be shy, go ahead and get the whole.

Five Spot

1123 Euclid Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30307

The Five Spot offers an eclectic menu of sandwiches, nachos, and quesadillas. Try the Fat Granny or The Dank with some 420 chili. Good stuff.

Mad Italian Restaurant

2197 Savoy Dr, Atlanta, GA 30341

For hot Italian hogies, the Mad Italian is a solid choice. Their meatball sub is the real deal.

Publix Super Market

3870 N Druid Hills Rd, Decatur, GA 30033

Sorry, but there's no denying it. You know it. I know it. Publix subs are the goods.
